This information, reported by the Swiss French daily Tribune de Genève on December 16, was confirmed by Fedpol spokeswoman Lulzana Musliu.
The French citizen of Tunisian origin, a former taxi driver, remains the subject of criminal proceedings in Switzerland. The Swiss Federal Prosecutor’s Office has accused him of violating Swiss laws banning jihadist groups such as al-Qaeda and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).
The man was also charged with assisting a criminal organization.
Fedpol assessed the danger level of this 40-year-old man to Swiss security before deciding to deport him to France./.
