(Baonghean.vn) -Actively improving the investment environment in the construction industry to enhance the province's competitiveness index and attract businesses with real potential to invest in the construction industry in the area is the direction of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien at the Conference on implementing the 2017 tasks of the construction industry on the morning of January 18.

In 2016, in the context of general difficulties and challenges, Nghe An construction industry has strived to achieve positive results. The industry's production value continued to increase significantly, estimated at about 38,180 billion VND, up 11.73% compared to 2015; the industry's economic development indicators maintained growth compared to 2015 and completed or exceeded the annual plan targets.

The fields of construction, consulting and promulgating policy mechanisms; management of investment and construction activities; urban planning and development, and technical infrastructure have achieved many remarkable results. Housing development, focusing on social housing according to the National Housing Development Strategy, continues to be promoted.

In 2016, two social housing projects were completed and put into use and two other projects are being implemented. Construction price management and site clearance compensation are implemented promptly and closely following the market, creating an effective tool for establishing and adjusting total investment, estimates, bid package prices and adjusting construction contract prices.

In 2017, Nghe An Construction industry strives for production value to reach 41,998 billion VND, an increase of 10% compared to 2016. Indicators on the rate of urban population using clean water, the rate of collection and treatment of solid waste all increased by 1-2% compared to 2016.

Speaking at the conference, in addition to acknowledging and praising the efforts that Nghe An construction industry has strived to achieve positive results in 2016, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted: In 2017, the industry needs to have effective solutions to improve the quality of consulting on policies and mechanisms on construction materials, promptly advise and issue documents under its authority to adjust operations and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of investment in construction and urban development in the province.

The sector needs to improve the quality of project appraisal, design, cost estimates, inspection of acceptance work, and at the same time strengthen management and control of construction quality and costs; focus on directing relevant localities to promptly complete important plans such as the Vinh City Master Plan to 2030 with a vision to 2050, planning of functional areas in the Nam Thanh - Bac Nghe, Nam Nghe - Bac Ha regions... Persistently implement solutions to control the development of the real estate market according to planning and plans; create conditions for businesses and people to actively participate in the development of social housing, low-priced commercial housing, and build an information system on housing and the real estate market. In particular, contribute to improving the investment environment to increase the competitiveness index, attracting businesses to invest in construction in the province.

On this occasion, Nghe An Department of Construction was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag in 2016 by the Ministry of Construction, 03 collectives were awarded the title of Excellent Labor Collective by the Provincial People's Committee, 03 collectives and 76 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Department Director, 30 individuals were recognized by the Department Director with the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level.

In addition, 01 individual was proposed to be awarded the Second Class Labor Medal, 05 individuals are being proposed to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister.
