Active treatment for 6 fishermen after gas tank explosion on fishing boat

Gas tank explosion while fishing, 6 Nghe An crew members seriously injured
(Baonghean.vn) - While fishing at sea, a gas tank on a fishing boat of Nghe An fishermen exploded. The boat owner and crew were seriously injured.
As of 7 p.m. on March 10, doctors at Nghe An Provincial General Hospital were actively treating six fishermen injured in a gas tank explosion on a fishing boat.

The victims hospitalized in the explosion all reside in Cua Lo Town, including: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuat, Mr. Vo Sy Tuong (born in 1953), Mr. Vo Van Luong (born in 1967), Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1957), Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong (born in 1976) and Mr. Tran Van Chien (born in 1966).
Most of the victims suffered first to third degree thermal burns to the head, face, arms and legs. Among them, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung suffered a broken forearm and traumatic brain injury. Another victim, Mr. Vo Sy Tuong, also suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Mr. Tran Van Chien, the person with the least injuries in the explosion, said that at around 5am on March 10, he was sleeping when he heard a loud explosion from the area where the two gas tanks were placed on the train. Everyone was thrown away by the pressure from the explosion. The gas burned everyone's face, limbs and hands.

Luckily, Mr. Chien was holding a blanket at the time so he was not burned, but only had his hair burned by the heat. After regaining his composure, Mr. Chien immediately used the Icom to call for help from nearby fishing boats, bringing his fellow fishermen to shore for emergency treatment.
As reported, the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy port, Nghe An Border Guard received a report that a gas explosion occurred on a fishing boat with registration number NA - 91286 owned by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong (residing in Hai Binh block, Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town).
At that time, the boat was fishing in the Cua Hoi estuary, about 2km from shore. The explosion seriously injured Mr. Truong and 5 crew members on board.

Upon receiving the news, officers and soldiers of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port Border Post mobilized forces to coordinate with local authorities, Squadron 2 and fishermen to urgently rescue and bring the victims ashore.
It is known that the victims were all relatives. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
