(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 9, in Hai Phong city, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine and Hai Phong City Party Committee held a conference to continue implementing Directive No. 11 of the Politburo, actively innovating, improving orientation capacity, propaganda effectiveness associated with buying, reading and following the Party's newspapers and magazines.

In order to contribute to strengthening the Party's leadership and direction over the whole society, bringing the voice of the Party and State to cadres, party members and people across the country; promptly and accurately reflecting the will, aspirations, achievements, initiatives and experiences of all classes of people in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland, on December 28, 1996, the Politburo issued Directive No. 11-CT/TW requesting party committees and party organizations at all levels, departments, branches and unions to well organize the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines. On April 6, 2020, the Central Party Secretariat issued Notice No. 173-TB TW on continuing to implement Directive No. 11-CT/TW, dated December 28, 1996 of the 8th Politburo on the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the following issues: Actively innovating communication methods, enhancing public opinion orientation, improving sharpness in ideological and theoretical struggles, affirming the core role of Vietnam's revolutionary press, contributing to consolidating and strengthening unity within the Party, consensus in society and people's trust in the Party and State.

In recent times, the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines according to Directive 11-CT/TW has always been maintained stably and actively in each locality. From 2020 to now, despite the downward trend of printed newspapers, Party newspapers and magazines distributed through Vietnam Post still maintain high output. Specifically: In 2020, Nhan Dan Daily Newspaper distributed through the postal system reached 50,067,819 copies, Communist Magazine reached 1,555,557 copies; in 2021, Nhan Dan Daily Newspaper was 50,239,672 copies, Communist Magazine was 1,451,973 copies. By October 2022, the average output of Nhan Dan Daily Newspaper reached 134,577 copies/issue, Communist Magazine reached 57,484 copies/issue. Currently, there are 44 provinces and cities nationwide with local Party newspaper circulation reaching more than 100% compared to the number of subordinate Party cells...

To achieve that result, Party committees at all levels have directed and done well the work of purchasing and reading Party newspapers. Many Party committees, authorities, and socio-political organizations have realized the importance of purchasing, reading, and following Party newspapers. The movement of reading and following Party newspapers and magazines has been maintained and developed. Along with that, Party newspapers and magazines have regularly innovated and improved the quality of content and form of the newspaper, vividly and comprehensively reflecting political information, current events, economic, social, defense - security, Party building work, advanced models, patriotic emulation movements in all fields...
However, in recent times, some local Party committees, authorities and some departments and branches have not closely followed the spirit of Conclusion 29-KL/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee Secretariat on continuing to implement Directive 11-CT/TW of the Politburo on purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines.
Buying, reading and following the Party's newspapers and magazines is one of the tasks of Party work.

The conference also determined to continue to develop a plan to effectively implement Directive No. 11 CT/TW of the 8th Politburo on purchasing and reading Party newspapers and magazines in the new situation. Strengthen propaganda, identify the responsibility of cadres, Party members and Party committees at all levels in purchasing, reading and following Party newspapers. Attach importance to the work of inspection, supervision and urging the purchase and reading of Party newspapers and magazines at all levels. Strictly inspect the allocation and use of funds for purchasing Party newspapers and magazines, ensure that funds are used in accordance with principles and for the right purposes; encourage the expansion of beneficiaries of Party newspapers and magazines.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department acknowledged and highly appreciated the organization of this important conference. At the same time, he emphasized: Party newspapers and magazines must assume the mission of carrying out ideological and theoretical flags, systematically and methodically propagating the Party's ideological foundation, guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia wishes: All levels, sectors, agencies and units need to clearly understand that purchasing, reading and following the Party's newspapers and magazines is one of the tasks of the Party's work. The Party Committee needs to assign a unit to act as the focal point to place orders for units and localities at the grassroots level, ensuring the right quantity, right target, right purpose and need to expand distribution in especially difficult areas.
