Integrating French technology, BrahMos missile doubles its power
Thanks to guidance technology provided by France, the BrahMos missile has become an extremely fearsome "UN" weapon.

As is known, the PJ-10 BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missile is a product of cooperation between the Russian Federal State-owned Enterprise NPO Mashinostroeyenia Joint Venture and the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization - DRDO. In which, the Russian side is mainly responsible for the propulsion engine while India completes the guidance technology.
The results of the initial tests clearly showed the capabilities of both sides. While BrahMos easily reached its designed speed and range (Mach 2.8; range 290 km), its accuracy was not good at all.
When fired at a fixed floating target without any electronic countermeasures, the BrahMos's hit rate is only about 60%, a nightmare for a missile that costs millions of dollars because in actual combat the probability is certainly much lower.

Faced with great pressure from public opinion and with no time to delay any further, India took a bold step, relying on its extensive relationships with the world's military powers, and decided to seek support from France.
India's Indiandefencenew.in website reported on June 19, 2015 that France has agreed in principle to provide guidance technology for the BrahMos missile at the request of New Delhi.
The information was released after a meeting in Paris on June 17, 2015 between French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Indian Minister of State for Defense Inderjit Rao Singh.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Singh said that the offer to provide technology for the BrahMos missile was raised during meetings with Minister Le Drian as well as senior executives of Safran Company (Sagem).
Despite receiving support, Sagem still has to seek permission from the French government before proceeding with supporting the development of BrahMos.

The combination of advanced Russian and French technology gives India an extremely powerful weapon with superior features. |
After the above discussion, although there is no information confirming that Paris has accepted New Delhi's proposal, the fact that BrahMos suddenly increased its hit probability to an absolute 100% shows that the miraculous progress in a short time is unlikely to have been made by India on its own, especially when looking at the progress of other projects such as the Tejas fighter or the Arjun tank...
Thanks to the combination of Russian engines and French guidance equipment, India has in its hands an extremely powerful "United Nations" weapon with superior features compared to other opponents, and more importantly, it will be very difficult for the enemy to "guess" the vehicle that integrates a variety of different advanced technologies.
