A Su-30MKI fighter mysteriously disappeared near the China-India border on the afternoon of May 23.

According to information posted by Sputnik from New Delhi, aSu-30MKI fighterThe Indian Air Force's Aegis Aerial Vehicle (AVR) with two pilots on board conducted a training flight at 9:30 a.m. on May 23 local time and lost contact at 11:30 a.m. the same day. When contact was lost, the aircraft was 60 km from the airport and about 172 km from the Chinese border.

The Indian Air Force has now confirmed the disappearance and speculates that the plane may have crashed due to a technical fault or may have crashed straight into the mountains due to the complex terrain in the area.

The search and rescue process for the missing Su-30MKI fighter is still ongoing.

In March, another Indian Air Force Su-30MKI fighter crashed near Shivkar Kudla village in Rajasthan's Barmer district, close to the India-Pakistan border.
