Tien Linh has COVID-19, at risk of missing Vietnam vs Australia match
Striker Nguyen Tien Linh contracted COVID-19 right before the Vietnamese team gathered again to prepare for the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia.
Nguyen Tien Linh tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (January 12) to prepare to go to Hanoi to join the Vietnam national team. The Binh Duong striker had to undergo quarantine and treatment and was unable to join the training camp before the Vietnam national team left for Australia.

Tien Linh is the third case of the Vietnamese team becoming F0 during the "disengagement" period. Last week, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Nguyen Van Toan tested positive for COVID-19 upon returning to their localities and are currently undergoing quarantine as prescribed.
Both Hoang Duc and Van Toan only had a cough, no other symptoms. Hoang Duc now has a negative result in a rapid test.
The Vietnamese team will leave for Australia on January 20 to prepare for the next match in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia, taking place on January 27. After that, Coach Park Hang Seo and his players will return home to face the Chinese team on February 1 (the first day of Tet).
All members of the Vietnamese team after returning from the AFF Cup 2020 were given the opportunity to receive the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
