Moving towards perfecting the leadership personnel of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, People's Councils and People's Committees at all levels for the new term

On the morning of May 31, the Nghe An Provincial Election Steering Committee held a meeting to listen to the report on the overall results of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, and to discuss a number of work contents.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee chaired the conference. Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the National Assembly Delegation, Provincial People's Council, etc.

THE ELECTION TAKES PLACE SERIOUSLY AND STRICTLY

The election in Nghe An was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Election Law. The voter turnout rate reached 98.93%, the highest in recent elections, including Quy Chau district and Cua Lo town with 100% voter turnout. The candidates were elected with a very concentrated rate, averaging over 80% to over 90%.

Through the election, voters elected 13 deputies to the 15th National Assembly, 83 deputies to the Provincial People's Council, 736 deputies to the District People's Council and 10,885 deputies to the Commune People's Council.

The Provincial Election Committee assessed: The election in the province took place seriously and closely; the atmosphere and public opinion of voters were basically in high agreement and trust in this election.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee emphasized: The election was a great success, the voter turnout rate was higher than the previous term during the time when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out again, creating more trust and solidarity among all classes of people, arousing national pride; the people's trust with the Party and State to overcome difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee assessed that the election was very successful, truly a festival for all people, a festival of people's hearts.

This result reflects both the organization and the foundation of the political system, especially the people's trust after the success of the Party Congresses at all levels, the positive socio-economic results of the province in 2020 and the first months of 2021 despite facing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. In the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee said that he will actively take the next steps to best prepare for the first session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026.

Also at the meeting, members of the Nghe An Provincial Election Steering Committee exchanged experiences in leadership, direction, implementation, and handling of situations before and during the recent election; personnel preparation for the new term of People's Councils at all levels...

STRENGTHENING LEADERSHIP PERSONNEL OF THE NATIONAL DELEGATION, PEOPLE'S COUNCILS, AND PEOPLE'S COMMITTEES AT ALL LEVELS

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee emphasized that, up to this point, Nghe An has had a successful election, contributing significantly to the overall results of the whole country. The Central Committee acknowledged and evaluated the election results in the province as very good.

Summarizing some of the reasons for the success, the Provincial Party Secretary pointed out the very important role of the support and trust of the people. This comes from the foundation of the success of the Party Congress at all levels; the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic is very good, the socio-economic development situation in 2020 and the first months of 2021 is positive; the democratic, strict, and objective personnel process creates trust for the people.

Looking back at the election, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged that the very important lesson learned was:Preparations were carried out proactively, thoughtfully, seriously, identifying the right focus of political tasks from the beginning; developing plans and roadmaps for direction, inspection, and supervision in a reasonable and scientific manner; giving priority and maximum focus to the task of directing the election.

Personnel preparation was rigorous, methodical, and followed the correct procedures, promoting democracy; security, order, healthcare, financial resources, facilities, and equipment conditions for the election were ensured. Propaganda work was carried out promptly, focused, and in the right direction, maximizing the use of information and communication channels.

Along with that, the method, spirit, determination to direct decisively and promptly, associated with the inspection and supervision work at the grassroots, block and hamlet levels, has created a movement from top to bottom, mobilizing the entire political system to participate. The leadership and direction process has also been implemented in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the law, strictly; handling situations quickly, promptly, calmly and persistently.

Nghe An has also aroused the spirit of solidarity and unity in the steering committees and election committees at all levels...; at the same time, promoted democracy, aroused the spirit of consensus and support among the people.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy - Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee requested the Provincial Election Committee and relevant agencies to continue to carry out the procedures for confirming and announcing election results in accordance with the provisions of the Law and resolve other arising issues related to the election results.

Completing the leadership of the 15th National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council, the Provincial People's Council committees of the 18th term, term 2021 - 2026 and the leadership of the People's Committee, members of the Provincial People's Committee of the new term. The work must be complete, strict, and in accordance with regulations.

At the same time, inspect, urge and lead the work of perfecting personnel for leadership positions of the People's Council and People's Committee at the district level for the 2021-2026 term; direct the election summary, carry out emulation and reward work according to regulations.

At the conference, in the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial Party Secretary advised citizens in the province not to travel much if there is no really necessary work. For cadres, civil servants, public employees, and party members, in case they have to go on business trips or for personal reasons, they must report their itinerary, set an example of fully declaring and conducting testing if returning from an epidemic area.
