Midfielder Hoang Duc aims to score against the Russian national team.

On the afternoon of September 3rd, the Vietnamese national team continued their training in preparation for the 2024 International Friendly Tournament. Speaking to the media before the training session, midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc stated that the entire team is striving to achieve the best possible results in the upcoming tournament.

"Whenever the national team participates in tournaments, we always aim to go onto the field with the highest spirit in every match. After the National Day holiday, the Vietnamese national team will play against the Russian national team on September 5th. This is a special occasion for the Vietnamese team to aim for the best possible result against a higher-rated opponent."

Sharing about the team's training intensity, Hoang Duc said: "Over the past few days, the coaching staff has given us a very high-intensity training plan. The coaching staff has been focusing on improving our physical fitness in preparation for the match on September 5th."

Speaking about his goals in this tournament, the midfielder from Hai Duong expressed great determination: "One game at a time, starting with the match against Russia, we aim for the best possible performance. Although Russia is a very strong opponent, we still want to play a dedicated game and achieve a good result as a gift to our fans."

Regarding the Russian team, Hoang Duc said: "Personally, I think the Russian team is ranked highly on the FIFA rankings, while..."The Vietnamese national team is outside the top 100. This tournament aims to help the Vietnamese national team prepare for the AFF Cup at the end of the year. I and the whole team are ready to enter the tournament, give our best, and strive to achieve the best possible results.

Speaking about the upcoming match, Hoang Duc shared: "The coaching staff is rotating the squad, with many attacking and defensive options. Everyone is looking forward to seeing a very new face of the Vietnamese national team in the match against the Russian national team."
Hoang Duc also said that only Hong Duy has a minor injury, while the rest of the team is healthy and ready for the next match. He said he will try to take advantage of opportunities on the field, and if a good chance comes his way, he will try to score a goal.
