Midfielder Nguyen Minh Thuy: 'Will try my best to seize the opportunity to play in the international arena'
Young midfielder Nguyen Minh Thuy (Song Lam Nghe An Club) shared his feelings of excitement and emotion when he was first called up to the Vietnam U16 Team, and affirmed that he will try his best to seize the opportunity to play in the international arena.

One of the promising faces that grew up from the training centerLam River Nghe An, Minh Thuy is familiar with the role of central midfielder. However, in this training session, Minh Thuy was assigned by head coach Cristiano Roland to try his hand at the attacking midfielder position, where many quality and highly competitive players gather. This requires Thuy to adapt quickly, while demonstrating good creativity, tactical thinking as well as flexibility in ball handling.

Sharing her feelings about her first time wearing the U16 Vietnam team jersey, Minh Thuy could not hide her excitement and emotion: "There are many new friends here so at first I had difficulty integrating, but after a few training sessions, I gradually adapted. The environment in the team is quite different from the club, both in terms of tactics and training intensity."

The young player from Nghe An also expressed his impression of coach Cristiano Roland's training method. According to Minh Thuy, he is a very disciplined but also friendly person, always creating a positive atmosphere on the training ground. The team currently pursues a modern style of play, focusing on ball control, organizing attacks from the home field and emphasizing speed and flexibility in implementing the gameplay, which is clearly different from the style at domestic youth clubs.

Looking ahead to the upcoming international tournament, Minh Thuy expressed her determination to train hard to have a chance to be on the official competition list. “I have learned about the tournament in China. I will try my best to be selected and if I have the chance to play, I want to perform well to contribute to the team,” Thuy affirmed.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U16 team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from May 12-23. After that, coach Cristiano Roland and his team will go to China to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament. In this tournament, Vietnam U16 will face Australia U16 on May 28, host China U16 on May 30 and Saudi Arabia U16 on June 1./.
