(Baonghean.vn) - Among the series of young players promoted by coach Quang Truong to the SLNA first team to participate in V.League 2020, midfielder Tran Ngoc Anh is not a famous face, never called up to the youth team. However, his performance before the new season is convincing the coaching staff.

Among all the young players promoted to SLNA's first team this time, Dang Van Lam and Thai Ba Sang are quite outstanding players, having been called up to the Vietnam U19 team. However, Tran Ngoc Anh is the player who is showing the most promise.

Tran Ngoc Anh was born in Nam Cuong commune, Nam Dan district, no one in his family was involved in sports and luck brought this boy to the round ball. In the summer of 2010, Ngoc Anh heard the announcement of SLNA recruiting in town so he went to try out and was immediately accepted by SLNA coaches.

In fact, the generation of players born in 1999 is not a generation of quality training of SLNA because the input is not good. That is the reason why Tran Ngoc Anh and his teammates did not reap many titles in youth tournaments. First, at the National U17 Finals in 2015, Ngoc Anh and U17 SLNA only won the bronze medal.

In the 2016 National U17 Finals, Ngoc Anh and his teammates only ranked 3rd in Group A and were eliminated right from the group stage. That year, the player born in 1999 contributed a goal in the match against Ho Chi Minh City. Then in the 2017 National U19 Finals, Tran Ngoc Anh and his teammates continued to be eliminated right from the group stage and had to watch PVF and Hanoi play in the semi-finals.

However, right after that defeat, the 1999-born players like Ngoc Anh were promoted to the SLNA U21 team to participate in the National U21 Finals, competing with seniors like Pham Xuan Manh, Phan Van Duc, Bui Dinh Chau. And at this tournament, SLNA U21 with a young force still brought home a valuable bronze medal for Nghe An football.

Coming to the 2018 National U19 Finals, he and U19 SLNA once again won the bronze medal. That was the season that U19 SLNA only lost to rival U19 Hanoi in the semi-finals after a penalty shootout. As for Tran Ngoc Anh, the left midfielder of U19 SLNA contributed 2 goals, one in the match against U19 Dong Nai and the match against U19 HAGL.

For SLNA players, almost all have at least once enjoyed the feeling of winning a youth championship, but not for Ngoc Anh. However, thanks to his good performance at the 2018 National U19 Finals, Tran Ngoc Anh caught the eye of SLNA Pho Hien Club's coaching staff. This team borrowed Ngoc Anh, Ba Sang and Duc Thong with the ambition of winning the V.League, but unfortunately, luck turned its back on Ngoc Anh, after only 10 days of playing, this player tore his ligament and had to undergo surgery.

After a period of treatment at PVF, Ngoc Anh returned to SLNA to join the team at a time when coach Quang Truong was actively reviewing the team and looking for young players to succeed him. The Nghe An team said goodbye to more than half of its key players and the opportunity came to young players like Ngoc Anh.

Although he has never played in a professional tournament, Ngoc Anh's performance in recent times has been extremely impressive. Surpassing other teammates, Ngoc Anh was continuously assigned by Coach Quang Truong to play as a wing midfielder and with his extremely good left foot, he not only created but also scored goals in friendly matches.

In the 2-2 draw with Thanh Hoa, Tran Ngoc Anh increased the score to 2-1 with a run, facing the goalkeeper and finishing coolly. Most recently in an internal training session, Ngoc Anh scored again but from an aerial battle, with an accurate header despite his small stature.

Although she developed with a group of players who were not very talented and did not achieve many youth titles, Ngoc Anh's qualities were recognized and highly appreciated by coach Quang Truong. In return, Ngoc Anh also showed remarkable progress after a few months of training with her seniors.

If she continues to make efforts in every training session and takes advantage of every opportunity at V.League 2020, Ngoc Anh will certainly be a promising young player, capable of shining in the near future.
