Brilliant performance at the National U19 Tournament

At the 2023 National U19 Championship, U19 Song Lam Nghe An only won the Silver Medal. However, coach Nguyen Van Vinh's team still left an impression on fans with its soft and flexible attacking style. Contributing to that impressive performance, it is impossible not to mention strikers such as Van Bac, Van Quy, Quang Vinh, Truong Van Tuyen or Le Dinh Long Vu. And now that the tournament has passed, fans still cannot forget the image of Truong Van Tuyen - a midfielder with a small stature, but playing skillfully and effectively on the left wing of U19 Song Lam Nghe An.

Returning to the National U19 finals, Truong Van Tuyen suffered an ankle injury, so he could not play until the second match of the group stage. As soon as he was put on the field in the match between U19 Song Lam Nghe An and U19 Binh Duong, Truong Van Tuyen made a difference. Possessing magical feet and the ability to dribble, the midfielder from Yen Thanh created many storms towards the goal of the team from Thu Dau Mot. In that match, he made his mark with the opening goal for U19 Song Lam Nghe An. Watching the goal again, you can clearly feel Truong Van Tuyen's cunning. This midfielder made a breakthrough, passing through a series of opposing defenders before aiming for the near corner and firing a shot that left the Binh Duong goalkeeper redundant.

After an impressive performance in the second match, Truong Van Tuyen continued to contribute greatly to the big victory for U19 Song Lam Nghe An against U19 Binh Phuoc in the quarter-finals. The agility and technique of this player forced the Binh Phuoc goalkeeper to commit a foul in the penalty area, thereby helping U19 Song Lam Nghe An open the score of the match.

In the semi-final match against U19 Hanoi, Truong Van Tuyen with his confident ball control made it difficult for the opponent's defense many times. Coach Duong Hong Son's students always had to pay special attention to Truong Van Tuyen. This partly reduced the pressure on the defense of U19 Song Lam Nghe An, thereby bringing this team to the final match. Unfortunately, in the rematch with Thanh Hoa in the final match, U19 Song Lam Nghe An was unlucky and had to watch the neighboring team lift the Gold Cup.

“We tried our best, created many opportunities in front of Thanh Hoa’s goal, but unfortunately we could not put the ball in the opponent’s net. We are very sad because we could not win the championship to give to our fans. We will continue to work harder in training to come back stronger in the next tournaments” – Truong Van Tuyen shared.

During his football career, Truong Van Tuyen has achieved many commendable achievements. In addition to the Silver Medal he just won with U19 Song Lam Nghe An at the 2023 National U19 Tournament, Truong Van Tuyen also owns 2 Gold Medals at U13, U15 National; Bronze Medals at U15, U17 National.

Launch pad for Nghe An talents

Although he has participated in many national youth tournaments, for Truong Van Tuyen, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth - Children's Football Tournament is still one of the most important tournaments that he has had the honor to participate in.

Truong Van Tuyen shared: “Nghe An Newspaper Cup is where I came to professional football. This is the place that enlightened my future. I will never forget the memories we had when participating in Nghe An Newspaper Cup”.

Truong Van Tuyen was born in the rice-growing land of Yen Thanh. His whole family is involved in agriculture. When he was an 8-year-old boy, Tuyen had to help his parents with farm work. The pasture where buffaloes and cows grazed was where Tuyen and the other children in the village learned to play football, and then participated in tournaments organized by the commune. With the special qualities that the player born in 2005 demonstrated, he quickly caught the eye of the Yen Thanh children's coach. Although only 10 years old, Tuyen was selected to join the Yen Thanh Children's Football Team to participate in the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup.

“At that time, I was not aware of my future career, but participating in a large-scale tournament like the Nghe An Newspaper Cup was always the dream of many children in my village. I felt proud to play football in front of a large audience in the stands. The cheers and shouts of the fans are unforgettable memories in my memory” – Truong Van Tuyen recalled.

In his first year of participating in the tournament, despite playing as a winger, Truong Van Tuyen contributed 3 goals for Nhi Dong Yen Thanh. This player's impressive performance attracted the attention of scouts from the Song Lam Nghe An youth football training center.

The following season, Truong Van Tuyen, as captain of the Yen Thanh Children's Football Team, impressed with the image of a small boy fighting left and right on the attack line. Whenever Tuyen had the ball, he always brought fear to all opponents. And that same season, Tuyen contributed 4 goals for Yen Thanh Children's Football Team. Although the team could not go deep in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup, Truong Van Tuyen, with his unique qualities, was specially recruited directly into the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center.

Recalling the past, Truong Van Tuyen shared: “Football not only allows me to live with my passion, but also gives children in rural areas like us the opportunity to dream of a bright future ahead. I hope the Nghe An Newspaper Cup will continue to be maintained and developed. Because this tournament is a place for children to show their talents, a launching pad to bring young players to the path of professional football.”
