Following Mazda, Kia reduces price by up to 127 million VND

Truong Hai also applies the year-end customer attraction strategy by deeply discounting all Kia car models from 19-127 million VND.

Kia dealers are urgently advising customers who intend to buy a car to deposit money to import the car before January 2017, because December is the time of the deepest discounts. Most of the company's car models have been discounted, the lowest is Morning with a reduction of 19 million while the highest is Sedona with 127 million.

This discount is the total incentive, which includes the sale price reduction plus other incentives such as free civil liability insurance and physical insurance.

This discount is similar to Mazda (25-170 million). Both Truong Hai brands in Vietnam have a tradition of applying a strategy of deep, regular discounts to offset profits with sales.

Kia's lowest discount is for Morning at 19 million, while the highest is for MPV Grand Sedona at 127 million. The best-selling car in segment C is Cerato sedan with a discount of 53 million, meaning the cost for customers is even lower than cars in segment B.

However, in January 2017, Truong Hai adjusted the incentive level, accordingly, compared to December, most cars have less incentives. For example, Morning in December reduced by 19 million but in 2017 will only reduce by 14 million compared to the listed price.

Truong Hai representative said that in January 2017, the company had to raise the selling price again compared to December to balance the finances when there were changes in the import exchange rate of components as well as to ensure long-term business stability. However, the discount rate is still much higher than other companies.

Kia is the brand that contributes the highest sales to Truong Hai. By the end of November 2016, the Korean car company sold 29,456 cars to Vietnamese customers, while Mazda sold 28,351 cars.

Kia's monthly sales come mainly from Morning and Cerato. While Morning leads the A segment, Cerato is second in the C segment, after Mazda3. Kia's other products have not really been successful with the price reduction strategy, such as Rio is far behind Vios, Rondo cannot compete with Innova, Sorento cannot catch up with Fortuner, or Optima, Quoris, Soul, Sedona are only there to diversify the product portfolio.

The 2016 year-end sales season was more exciting than previous years when Truong Hai's deep discount policy applied to Mazda and Kia forced competitors to follow suit if they did not want to lose customers..
