(Baonghean.vn) - After traveling nearly 200 kilometers, on the afternoon of June 29th, the group of candidates from Tuong Duong district arrived safely in Vinh, preparing for the 2015 National High School Graduation Examination.

Tuong Duong District has 227 12th-grade students, of whom 133 are taking the local high school graduation exam, and 114 are participating in the university and college entrance exam at exam cluster No. 25 in Vinh City. To facilitate these students, the Tuong Duong District Youth Union organized the "My Younger Sibling Takes the Exam" program. The program aims to encourage and support poor students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Tuong Duong District to participate in the national high school graduation exam and university entrance exam in Vinh City. It also expresses the hope that these students will do well in their exams so that they can find stable jobs and careers to help their hometowns and improve their communities. One of the main activities of the program is that volunteers from the Tuong Duong District Youth Union, in coordination with the Youth Unions of Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts and the Vinh City Youth Union, organize transportation to the exam locations and help find affordable accommodation and food for the students.

Previously, when the "My Younger Sibling Takes the Exam" program was launched, the Tuong Duong District Youth Union appealed for support from individuals, organizations, and businesses in the area and raised over 25 million VND, enough to organize three bus trips to take the students to Vinh City for the exam. In Vinh, Mr. Ha Van Binh, director of a private enterprise operating in Tuong Duong district, also went directly to Vinh University to provide additional support to the students. Speaking about this, he shared: "My business operates in Tuong Duong district, so I understand better than anyone the difficulties and hardships that students face when going to school. Traveling from Tuong Duong to Vinh City to pursue their dream of attending university is even more challenging. Even with limited resources, we want to share some of the burden with the students, so they can feel more at ease during the upcoming exam."

Difficulties are certainly unavoidable, and not everyone can achieve their aspirations, but the fact that these students have overcome their limitations and aspire to prove themselves is commendable. This journey also carries the dreams of their families and fellow villagers. Va Ba Kha, a student from Pieng Coc village, Mai Son commune, shared: "In my entire village, only a handful of people have gone to university. My older siblings didn't have the opportunity to go to school because of poverty. I'm taking the exam not just for myself, but for my whole family and clan."

The excitement dispelled fatigue and the scorching sun of Vinh city on the day the students arrived. Staying until noon to help the candidates settle into their accommodations, student Bui Quang Thang (Faculty of Foreign Languages Education) shared: "I am also a candidate from the highlands, so I understand the difficulties and hardships of those coming to Vinh for the first time." The school's Youth Union also directed efforts to create the most favorable conditions to help the students settle into their accommodations and provide transportation. Le Hong Thai, Secretary of the Tuong Duong District Youth Union, after more than a week of busy work, finally felt a sense of relief. Unable to hide his joy, he said: "I couldn't sleep all night, only worrying about potential problems on the way. Now that I'm here, with the support of the volunteer youth team and the students settling into their accommodations, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief."

This successful start is also creating motivation for the candidates from the mountainous districts of Tuong Duong to strive for better results in the upcoming exams. We believe that this program will help many dreams come true, further developing education in the mountainous districts of western Nghe An province and leading to more outstanding achievements.
