(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 7th, the Party Committee of Nghe An Newspaper held a meeting to summarize the Party building work in 2012, implement tasks for 2013, and announce the results of collective and individual self-criticism in accordance with the spirit of Central Resolution No. 4 on "Some urgent issues concerning Party building work today".

Over the past year, the Party Committee has developed a program and plan, outlining measures to strengthen management and effectively direct the implementation of political tasks, especially professional tasks. This includes effectively directing key areas such as: Implementing the project to improve the quality of Nghe An Newspaper for the period 2011-2015, approved by the Provincial Party Committee; Continuing to innovate the content and format of the newspaper, promoting its distribution and use; managing reporters, training collaborators, and paying royalties. Starting from January 1, 2013, the newspaper published its 7th issue; subsequently, the thematic pages were revamped with the selection and addition of more relevant sections; and from March 15, 2012, page 2 of the daily Nghe An Newspaper was improved.

In 2012, Nghe An Newspaper published 308 daily issues, 52 weekend issues, and 3 special issues. The circulation reached nearly 14,000 copies per issue, an increase of almost 3,000 copies per issue compared to 2011. Focus was placed on improving the orientation, timeliness, and diversity of the online version of Nghe An Newspaper, with an average of over 60,000 visits per day, double the peak of 2011.

The Party Committee focuses on directing the reform of the management and operation of the Editorial Board and specialized departments; developing monthly propaganda plans, organizing the implementation of many hot topics with great influence and profound impact, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in a practical and effective manner. In addition, it ensures the promotion of democracy, openness, and transparency in planning as well as in the selection and promotion of cadres. The Party Committee also regularly pays attention to and cares for the development of political and social organizations within the agency. It actively cultivates outstanding union members for Party membership, having recommended 3 outstanding union members for Party membership and 2 outstanding individuals to attend Party membership training courses.

Besides performing its professional duties well, the Party Committee pays attention to promoting emulation movements, implementing the "Learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh," and humanitarian and charitable activities, and the fund for the poor. Notably, it has done a good job of caring for Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tong, a Vietnamese Heroic Mother; donated 4 cows worth 40 million VND to help the poor commune of Xieng My in Tuong Duong district; donated 20 million VND to the family of the late journalist Nguyen Ngoc Duc; provided 12 ceiling fans to the kindergarten in Thanh Thinh commune, Thanh Chuong district; coordinated with Intermex Company to donate nearly 100 gifts worth 30 million VND to poor people in the resettlement area of ​​Ban Ve Hydropower Plant; coordinated with Bac A Bank and TH Joint Stock Company to award a scholarship worth 40 million VND to Le Thi Van in Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district; and successfully organized the 16th Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament.

The Party Committee also seriously developed and implemented the Central Resolution No. 4, 11th Congress, on "Some urgent issues concerning Party building today." It directed and organized self-criticism and criticism within the Party Committee, the Executive Board, and among cadres and Party members in a serious, frank, sincere, and open manner, based on the correct procedures and regulations, and was assessed as meeting the requirements.

Comrade Pham Thi Hong Toan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief, presented awards to the Party Branch that achieved the title of "Outstandingly Clean and Strong".

With these results, in 2012, 3 Party branches achieved the title of "Outstandingly Clean and Strong" and 2 Party branches achieved the title of "Clean and Strong".

In 2013, the Party Committee of Nghe An Newspaper focused on leading the improvement of content and enhancing the quality of its publications. From January 1st, 2013, a plan was implemented to publish an additional Sunday edition, increasing the daily Nghe An Newspaper to eight pages by two, and launching a comprehensive upgrade and modernization project for the electronic version of Nghe An Newspaper. The activities of the Party branches, mass organizations, and youth union were also improved. Leadership focused on improving working methods, streamlining management, perfecting the newspaper production process, and effectively leading emulation movements and building a green, clean, and beautiful workplace.
