Continue to replicate the economic model directed by the Farmers' Association

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 7, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session to evaluate the results of the coordination program between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association in the past time. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant provincial departments and branches.

Implementing the program of coordination between the Provincial People's Committee and the Farmers' Association, after nearly 2 years, the Farmers' Association has deployed and replicated 15 highly effective economic models. The Association has mobilized members to voluntarily donate more than 812,000m²rice fields, garden land, contributing over 2 million working days and nearly 357 billion VND to build infrastructure to implement the New Rural Development Program. The Association has coordinated with relevant departments and branches to organize 5 training courses to improve propaganda skills; provide vocational advice to district-level Farmers' Association officials and key officials of grassroots Farmers' Associations; and open 272 short-term vocational training classes for more than 9,000 rural workers. However, there are many very effective economic models, but due to difficulties in operating costs of Farmers' Associations at all levels, the implementation and replication of economic models is still limited.

At the meeting, 9 representatives from departments, agencies and branches gave their opinions on many issues surrounding the coordination between the Association and the units. The delegates evaluated the coordination between the Farmers' Association and departments and branches in the fields of developing socio-economic development programs and projects; implementing the new rural construction program; training members on related policies and mechanisms... The delegates also proposed some contents in the coordination program in the coming time.

The signing of the working program between the Farmers' Association and the Provincial People's Committee and agencies, departments and branches has created favorable conditions for the Provincial Farmers' Association to implement the contents and working programs with high results, enhancing the role and responsibility of the association at all levels in participating in the implementation of socio-economic development programs; building new rural areas; competing in good production and business, helping each other to sustainably eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

Concluding the working session, comrade Dinh Viet Hong highly appreciated the results of the coordination program between the Provincial Farmers' Association. Through the comments of the departments and branches, he suggested that the Provincial Farmers' Association absorb the opinions of the delegates to supplement the report data to make it more complete and adequate. Regarding the working relationship between the Association and the departments and branches, it is necessary to consider the good and bad aspects, to learn from experience and find better ways to coordinate. Add more units that need to coordinate such as the Border Guard, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The models have contributed to changing farmers' awareness, applying science and technology, minimizing environmental impacts, applying high technology, contributing to creating jobs, increasing income, reducing poverty for farmers, and creating trust among cadres and people.

Besides, there are still some shortcomings such as the awareness of leaders of some districts is still not fully aware of Decision 673/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister and the purpose of the Farmers Support Fund, so this issue has not been well implemented. The Farmers' Association at the district level has not proactively provided timely advice to implement projects, and the coordination between the Farmers' Association and departments and branches is sometimes not really smooth.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong suggested that the Provincial Farmers' Association continue to implement the signed contents in the coming time, especially the need to replicate effective economic models. Strengthen the work of propagating and mobilizing farmers to effectively implement the new rural construction program to finish ahead of schedule, and effectively implement the hunger eradication and poverty reduction program.Coordinate and direct the review of 5 years of implementing Conclusion 61 of the Secretariat and Decision 673 of the Prime Minister. Direct relevant departments and branches to coordinate in organizing the agricultural and trade fair in the North Central region. The Farmers' Association coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to successfully organize the 8th Conference to honor excellent farmers and business households in Nghe An province.
