(Baonghean.vn) - The Party Committee and Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper request that all collectives and individuals make greater efforts, promote the application of modern journalistic technology, and improve the quality of publications.
On the afternoon of December 1st, Nghe An Newspaper held a conference to summarize its work in 2023 and plan for 2024.
Towards multi-platform journalism
In 2023, the Party Committee and Editorial Board of Nghe An Newspaper led and directed the professional work to focus on publicizing events taking place in the province.
The quality of content and presentation in daily and weekend publications continues to improve, maintaining existing special sections and columns while developing many new ones to meet the requirements of propaganda work as well as readers' access to information, notably: economic perspectives, short videos, etc.
Nghe An Newspaper's online edition continues to affirm its position within the local Party newspaper system. Nghe An Newspaper continues to develop in the direction of multi-platform journalism. Nghe An Newspaper's channels on social media continue to develop strongly.
In 2023, the entire agency won 65 national, sectoral, and Nghe An provincial journalism awards (an increase of 5 awards compared to the same period in 2022).
Besides professional activities, the Party Committee and Editorial Board also focused on leading and directing the agency and organizations to promote social, charitable, and humanitarian activities. The total budget for social and charitable activities solicited and implemented by Nghe An Newspaper in 2023 was approximately over 2.2 billion VND.
Nghe An Newspaper was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag for its outstanding achievements in comprehensively fulfilling its tasks and leading the patriotic emulation movement of Nghe An province in 2022; and a Certificate of Merit from the Organizing Committee of the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award for "Outstanding achievements in responding to the 7th Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award". The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee awarded many Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
Encouraging creativity
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Thi Kim Oanh – Head of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc – acknowledged the unity and efforts of the collective in affirming the brand image of Nghe An Newspaper.
The comrade expressed his hope that in the coming period, based on the unit's plans and tasks, the Party Committee and Editorial Board would continue to innovate and improve the quality of both the content and form of publications; the style of articles would be richer and more accessible to readers' tastes; and would accurately reflect the realities of people's lives.
The Party Committee and Editorial Board consistently uphold the spirit of unity, democracy, pioneering spirit, and exemplary conduct in performing their duties; strengthening the management and supervision of Party members and reporters in their work. They effectively implement the principles of democratic centralism and grassroots democracy; the staff, Party members, and reporters of Nghe An Newspaper are at the forefront in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Ngo Duc Kien – Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper – acknowledged the efforts of the specialized departments, individuals, and each unit in helping Nghe An Newspaper achieve its accomplishments over the past year.
In outlining tasks for the coming year, Comrade Ngo Duc Kien requested that individuals and departments make greater efforts to meet the requirements of modern journalism, while adhering to the regulations on professional ethics for journalists and the prohibitions for officials and employees; promoting the application of modern journalistic technology; and further strengthening multimedia and multi-platform journalism.
The specialized departments need to continue implementing in-depth thematic studies and high-quality series of articles to participate in journalism awards at the central, ministerial, and local levels. They should constantly innovate the content, format, and methods of expanding interaction on the Nghe An online newspaper to increase traffic; innovate the presentation of the daily newspaper, and maintain and enhance the brand of Nghe An Newspaper.
At the same time, specialized departments need to study the mechanisms, policies, and documents of the Party and the State to overcome the unit's difficulties and strive to further develop Nghe An Newspaper.
“The Party Committee and Editorial Board encourage the spirit and create space and motivation for cadres, reporters, and staff to develop creativity, contribute ideas, and implement new ideas and methods to innovate the publishing features and presentation of publications, especially on digital platforms, to increase interaction, promotion, and the reach of Nghe An Newspaper,” Comrade Ngo Duc Kien emphasized.
On this occasion, the Party Committee and Editorial Board commended the Party branches, Party members, collectives, and individuals who achieved outstanding results in their work in 2023.
