BMW continues to recall large displacement motorcycles in Vietnam
BMW Motorrad, the distributor of the motorcycle brand, has recalled 80 RnineT motorbikes in the Vietnamese market to fix a faulty rear swingarm; the faulty motorbikes were manufactured from August 2014 to November 2016.
The cause of the recall is due to a loose threaded connection on the right side of the rear swingarm of many RnineT motorcycles, causing a safety risk during operation.

There are currently a total of 80 BMW Motorrad RnineT vehicles in circulation in Vietnam subject to recall. |
The rear swing arm is the part that supports and guides the rear wheel, and is also the fulcrum for the rear shock absorber system. Therefore, if the bearing thread joint is loose, it will greatly affect the safety factor when the vehicle turns, goes over rough roads or decelerates. As a result, the steering performance will not be completely according to the driver, even causing a fall.
Therefore, to ensure user safety and consumer rights, the official importer and distributor Euro Auto decided to recall to check and tighten the bearing bolt of the rear swingarm.
Euro Auto said that there are currently a total of 80 BMW Motorrad RnineT vehicles in circulation in Vietnam that are subject to recall. All defective vehicles were manufactured between August 2014 and November 2016.
The inspection and repair time for each vehicle is expected to take about 1 hour. The recall program will end on September 27, 2018.
Previously, in early September 2017, distributor Euro Auto also recalled 79 BMW Motorrad R1200GS vehicles to fix errors in the front shock absorber.
