Returning to Vietnam with only 2 matches in Thai League 1, Hoang Vu Samson continued to receive more "harsh" words from his old boss.

In an interview with the press on March 11, Buriram United Club President Newin Chibchob gave a frank assessment of the 30-year-old striker’s ability. He only played for the reigning Thai League 2017 champions for 2 matches and 33 minutes before leaving.

“Samson wants to continue playing here. But honestly, Buriram cannot do that. He is a good player, but he is not suitable for the team,” the powerful leader shared.

“In principle, foreign players will always come to Buriram. But what I care about is their talent. It must be superior to our Thai colleagues that we have.

Samson did not achieve that. I think his ability is only equal to Thai players. So I choose domestic players. That will benefit the national team in the future."

In the past, Buriram United has named 5 foreign players to participate in the 2018 season. In addition to Samson, they also own the striker duo Diogo - Edgar, captain Andres Tunez and midfielder Yoo Jun-soo. After saying goodbye to the Nigerian striker, they will use the remaining 4 foreign players.

According to Thai League regulations, each team is allowed to register 5 foreign players. Of these, 3 are optional, 1 from Asia and 1 from ASEAN. Thus, Buriram United temporarily has one remaining slot from Southeast Asia.

As for Samson, this player has been registered by Hanoi FC to participate in V.League 2018. After returning to Vietnam from his home country Nigeria (March 17), he will officially join the team.
