Terrorist suspect killed 3 people in Strasbourg, France
The suspected gunman who killed three people at a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg was shot dead on Thursday in a shootout with police after being on the run for 48 hours.

Suspect Cherif Chekatt was shot dead in the Neudorf/Meinau area of Strasbourg after police conducted an operation at around 9:00 p.m. on December 13 (20:00 GMT — 3:00 a.m. Hanoi time on December 14).
Chekatt opened fire at a Christmas market in Strasbourg on December 11, killing at least three people and injuring 13. He was wounded in a gun battle with patrols before fleeing in a taxi. More than 700 security officers were searching for the suspect.
The Christmas market in Strasbourg is a famous tourist destination, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Strasbourg is a city located on the French-German border, about 400 km north of the Italian border. This is also the headquarters of the European Parliament.
