Destroy all Galaxy Note 7

The Galaxy Note 7s that are recalled will be destroyed by Samsung according to environmentally safe procedures, instead of recycling usable parts.

Motherboard quoted a Samsung spokesperson as saying that the Korean electronics company will not repair, refurbish, or attempt to reuse components of the Galaxy Note 7 after the recall. Instead, they will completely destroy these devices (millions of them) in accordance with international environmental safety standards.

“We have a safety process in place to handle damaged phones,” said a Samsung spokesperson.

According to Phonearena, Samsung's move continues to show the company's professionalism. Because normally, many phone companies try to recycle defective products to compensate for the loss when recalling.

Despite the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, consumer confidence in the Samsung brand has not diminished. In Taiwan, up to 90% of customers have exchanged their Galaxy Note 7s for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Digitimes believes that this trend may continue in other markets, including the US and Europe.
