'Little mermaid' Anh Vien after retirement: Transforming appearance, becoming a photo model

Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, born in 1996 in Can Tho, is nicknamed "Little Mermaid". She is one of the most outstanding athletes in the history of Vietnamese swimming. During her peak career, she has set many records, won about 150 medals of all kinds, including 25 SEA Games gold medals. She is also the Vietnamese athlete with the biggest investment in history, with a budget of about 30 billion VND in the period 2011-2019.

After the 2020 Tokyo Olympics taking place in 2021, Anh Vien withdrew from the team with the desire to focus on her studies and personal life.

After retiring, she taught and shared swimming knowledge such as swimming techniques, floating techniques, etc. on social media platforms. Anh Vien's shares attracted attention from the online community thanks to her in-depth and approachable knowledge. She also tried to use her image to inspire children's love of swimming.

Before, he practiced breathing a lot so his nose must have been big. "I got braces because I felt insecure when I smiled. In the past, I didn't know how to take care of my teeth, so they weren't beautiful. When I grew up, I realized that braces were necessary for me."former athlete shared.

In 2023, Anh Vien graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sports Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports.
