Finding solutions to prevent tax losses in Vinh City

21/23 targets achieved and exceeded
The conference focused on assessing the implementation of the city's socio-economic development plan in 2018. Accordingly, 21/23 socio-economic targets achieved and exceeded the set plan.
The city's economy continued to grow well, estimated at 9.12%. Production value is estimated at 41,655 billion VND, up 10.5% over the same period. Total social investment capital is estimated at 15,965 billion VND, up 11.1% over the same period.
Average income per capita reached 84.6 million VND/year. During the year, the city had 900 newly established enterprises and granted business licenses to 2,300 households, an increase of 9.25% over the same period. Budget revenue was estimated at 2,175.4 billion VND.
In addition to the achievements, many pressing issues and concerns for the city were discussed by the Party Executive Committee members at the conference. Secretary of the City Party Committee Vo Viet Thanh pointed out the inadequacy when the city's economic growth rate increased by 9-10% every year, but tax revenue from non-state enterprises and individual business households did not increase.
Therefore, we need to be more responsible and determined to increase revenue, not only paying attention to completing the assigned budget but also ensuring spending sources, especially solving the city's weak issues that need resources, while creating fairness and transparency in business activities.

Also concerned about the budget, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Van Son said that fighting tax losses is not impossible, the important thing is whether or not there is determination to take action, for example in the field of private housing construction, affirming one thing for sure, there is no case of construction in the area that the urban rules team of wards and communes has missed, however the amount of tax collected is very small!
Besides the tax issue, the conference also raised the issue that while waiting for the province's policy of revenue and expenditure on teaching 2 sessions/day for primary schools, the city needs to review the expenses that are not really urgent to handle the payment of salaries for teachers who teach extra classes and part-time teaching contracts in primary schools, who have not been paid for the past 4 months.
The city has not yet had a clear change in the restructuring of the agricultural economy. There are also a series of issues regarding land management, urban order, management of apartment buildings, etc., which are also put on the agenda of the Executive Committee.
Building a civilized urban lifestyle
Speaking at the conference, Vinh City Party Secretary Vo Viet Thanh requested each member of the Executive Committee in charge of each field and locality to be responsible for finding solutions and decisively directing and finding solutions to increase budget revenue; paying attention to building a civilized urban lifestyle starting from the people, from the neighborhood, from dumping garbage in the right place, at the right time to environmental sanitation, neighborhood beautification...
