Finding solutions to develop wood materials in Que Phong district

(Baonghean.vn) - During 2 days of October 19-20 in Que Phong district, May Forestry Joint Stock Company worked with leaders of Que Phong district and related departments, communes of raw material areas, representatives of some forest planting households to discuss solutions to develop wood material areas for Nghe An Wood Factory in the district.

According to the report of Que Phong district, the locality currently has 178,000 hectares of forestry land, of which 42,000 hectares are protective forests, 61,000 hectares are planned for production forests, and there are still 33,000 hectares of vacant land in the production forest planning. Implementing afforestation under project 147, 1,500 hectares have been planted in the area.

Comrade Le Van Giap, Chairman of the District People's Committee, hopes that Nghe An Wood Processing Factory will quickly implement policies on planting and purchasing wood materials in the district.

With the characteristics of large forestry land area, especially the large area of ​​vacant production forest land, the leaders of Que Phong district, the leaders of the communes as well as the households expressed their wish that Nghe An Wood Factory develop the raw material area in the area, creating conditions for the locality to develop the potential and strengths of forests and forest land, contributing positively to the economic restructuring of the locality.

The representative of TH Raw Material Development Consulting Joint Stock Company said that Que Phong's soil and climate conditions are very suitable for paper raw materials.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, General Director of May Forestry Joint Stock Company, specifically informed the leaders of Que Phong district and communes about the progress of the factory construction and the development of raw material areas. Accordingly, Nghe An Wood Processing Factory has a total investment of more than 300 million USD, including 2 processing lines for wood panels and MDF fiberboard. Since September 3, 2016, the Factory has been inaugurated and put into operation phase 1.

To ensure the source of raw materials for the Factory, Thang Nam Forestry Joint Stock Company has issued a policy mechanism to develop raw material areas such as: lending to support initial investment without interest for seeds, fertilizers, termite control chemicals, supporting design work, training in forest planting techniques and committing to purchase all wood raw materials at market prices at the time of sale. In particular, the Factory has a policy to support raw material purchase prices according to the distance from the factory to the raw material area for households.

At the meeting, leaders of Que Phong district, communes, and households were very sympathetic and excited when May Forestry Joint Stock Company implemented solutions to develop raw material areas in the area. Leaders of Que Phong district assigned the Pu Hoat Natural Reserve Management Board to be responsible to the district People's Committee as the focal point for implementing the development of raw material areas and purchasing raw materials. At the same time, Que Phong district planned to review the forestry land fund and propose to the province to add the locality to the planning of raw material areas for Nghe An Wood Processing Factory./.
