Black box found near Su-22 crash site
(Baonghean.vn) - According to a source provided to Nghe An Newspaper, at 4:00 p.m. on July 26, 2018, search and rescue forces found an object believed to be the black box of the Su-22 aircraft, serial number 8551 of Air Force Regiment 921, Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force, which crashed at noon on July 26.
The black box was discovered near the crash site, in Dua village, Nghia Yen commune, Nghia Dan district. When the black box was found, many people on duty at the scene witnessed and confirmed that the black box was still intact.
Along with the black box, many pieces of plane debris were also found at the crash site.

The black box was quickly seized by the task force to exploit flight data, serving the analysis and search for the exact cause of the plane crash.

The black box is a device that stores communications from the cockpit as well as the plane's front-facing audio and other important data. The cockpit voice recorder stores sounds in the cockpit, including the conversations of the pilots.
