The body of a student who drowned in the Hieu River has been found.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the People's Committee of Nghia Loc commune, Nghia Dan district, at approximately 4 PM on April 5th, functional forces found the body of VVH.
VVH (born in 2007), residing in Khe Sai 2 hamlet, Nghia Loc commune, Nghia Dan district. Earlier that day, on the afternoon of April 4th, she and five other friends went to the Hieu River bank in Block 1, Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town to pick strawberries. Unfortunately, she slipped and drowned.
Seeing H. in distress, another child jumped in to save her, but then also drowned. Fortunately, this child washed ashore safely, while H. went missing.
Upon receiving the report, authorities promptly dispatched personnel and equipment to the scene to search for the victim in that section of the river. After finding H.'s body at 4:45 PM on April 5th, approximately 50 meters from the drowning location, authorities handed the body over to the family for burial.
It is known that H.'s family belongs to an ethnic minority group and is in difficult circumstances. Representatives from the government, departments, and mass organizations of Nghia Loc commune and Khe Sai hamlet also visited and encouraged the family.
