Surrender weapons and explosives.
In accordance with Directive No. 13/2011 of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on mobilizing the people to surrender weapons, explosives, support tools, and prohibited dangerous toys, on January 4th, the Thai Hoa Town Police confiscated one K44 pistol, one Colt pistol and four bullets, one 2.5m long string of firecrackers containing 300 firecrackers, two bundles of firecrackers with 36 firecrackers each, and nine Chinese-made firecrackers.
Neck severed due to traffic accident.
At 3 PM on January 4th, a traffic accident occurred on National Highway 1A, in the section passing through Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu district, between a motorized tricycle and a motorbike with license plate 37L7-0621. The motorbike driver suffered a severed neck and is at risk of death.
Two suspects arrested for transporting 1.5 kg of explosives.
On January 4th, Border Guard Post 515, Nghe An Border Guard Command, discovered and arrested Tran Van Tuan (born in 1978) and Le Xuan Hai (born in 1978), both residing in Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district, for possessing 1.5 kg of explosives. The suspects and seized items are currently being held for further investigation.

On January 4th, the Nam Dan District Police organized an ambush and arrested wanted fugitive Nguyen Ba Dong (born in 1981), residing in Lam Son Hamlet, Town.
Previously, on February 13, 2011, Nguyen Ba Dong was arrested by the police.
Nguyen Ba Dong previously had three convictions for gambling, theft, and robbery.

At 7 PM on January 4th, at the K14 karaoke bar in Quang Trung ward (Vinh City), the Quang Trung Ward Police investigated and arrested 7 individuals: Nguyen Thi Minh Chau (born 1978, residing in Hung Dung ward, Vinh City), Tran Thi Thanh My (born 1981, residing in Quang Tien block, Hung Binh ward, Vinh City), Dau Thi Ngoc Anh (born 1985, residing in block 8, Truong Thi ward, Vinh City), Truong Van Hai (born 1981, residing in block 6, Cua Nam ward, Vinh City), Nguyen Thi Thanh Tra (born 1979, residing in hamlet 1, Nghi Kim commune, Vinh City), Tran Van Mai (born 1985, residing in Hong Linh town, Ha Tinh province), and Dao Anh Duong (born 1980, residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh City) for the illegal use of narcotics.
