In a newly released statement, accompanied by a massive 820-megabyte file, hacker Guccifer 2.0 wrote: "I broke into the Clinton Foundation's servers and downloaded hundreds of thousands of documents and donor databases."

Hacker Guccifer 2.0 also stated: "Hillary Clinton and her staff don't even bother with information security. The only issue with accessing the Clinton Foundation's servers is a matter of time."

The hacker posted a screenshot of a list of folders stolen from the Clinton Foundation's servers, and it immediately garnered significant attention online.

The hacker also stated that the files contained lists of individuals and organizations that funded the Clinton Foundation, as well as "other documents." He said he couldn't yet post all the stolen databases because the files were too large. He is looking for the best way to release them and urged people to continue following the situation.

Shortly afterward, the Clinton Foundation denied on Politico that the files were taken from their servers, stating: "We have no evidence that the Clinton Foundation's server systems have been compromised or that any intrusion alerts have been issued. No recently published folders or files belong to the Clinton Foundation."
