1. General Secretary attends the Program to celebrate Vietnam Doctors' Day

94 people reported to be not qualified as professors and associate professors is the latest information provided to the press by Minister and Government Spokesperson Mai Tien Dung on the afternoon of March 1.

Accordingly, the initial review results just reported by the Ministry of Education and Training to the Prime Minister at the regular Government meeting on March 1 showed that out of 1,226 people considered for recognition as professors and associate professors, 94 people were reported to be unqualified, such as lacking teaching hours and scientific research...

Up to this point, there has been no official conclusion on whether these people are qualified as professors or associate professors.

7. Septic tank explosion, 4 family members seriously injured

On the morning of February 27, a large explosion occurred in a rented room on Le Hong Phong Street (Phu Tho Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province), injuring 4 people, including 2 children who were seriously injured.

The victims included Mr. Le Thanh Phong (38 years old, living in Vinh Long), Ms. Truong Thi Hong Dao (34 years old, Mr. Phong's wife) and Mr. Phong's two children, Le Danh Khoi (10 years old), Le Thi Kim Han (5 years old).

Some witnesses said that while using the restroom in his rented room, Mr. Phong lit a cigarette. At that time, the gas in the septic tank caught fire and exploded, puncturing the metal roof of the rented room, throwing Mr. Phong out.

At the time of the explosion, Mr. Phong’s wife and children were in the rented room and were also seriously injured by the force of the explosion. At the scene, the roof of the room where the incident occurred was blown off by the force of the explosion, and many items were damaged and shattered.
