Fidel Park inauguration in Quang Tri province

On the morning of September 15, in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, the inauguration ceremony of Fidel Park took place. The ceremony was attended by delegations of the Party and Government of Vietnam and Cuba.

Forty-five years ago, Cuban leader Fidel Castro traveled halfway around the world to Vietnam, visiting the Quang Tri frontline. He was the first foreign head of state to visit the liberated zone of South Vietnam during the resistance war.

In memory of the Cuban leader, Quang Tri province built Fidel Park in the center of Dong Ha city. Fidel Park covers an area of ​​over 16 hectares. This is a project of historical, cultural, social significance, deeply humanistic, and is a place to commemorate Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 14, in Dong Ha city, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 45th anniversary of leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated area of ​​South Vietnam in Quang Tri province (September 1973 - September 2018). On the afternoon of September 11, at the 27th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee voted to pass a Resolution on the establishment of My Duc ward in Ha Tien town and the establishment of Ha Tien city in Kien Giang province.

Accordingly, My Duc ward of Ha Tien town was established on the basis of the entire 16.96 km2 of natural area and 9,108 people of My Duc commune. Ha Tien city was established on the basis of the entire 100.49 km2 of natural area and 81,576 people of Ha Tien town.

According to the Government's Project, Ha Tien town is a border urban area located in the Long Xuyen quadrangle, in the key economic region of the Mekong Delta.

Ha Tien is not only the economic, cultural and social center of Kien Giang province and the Mekong Delta, but also a traffic and trade hub connecting the Mekong Delta with the Kingdom of Cambodia, Thailand and Southeast Asian countries via the Trans-Asia route.

On the afternoon of September 10, the People's Committee of Lang Son province and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) held a ceremony to officially announce the opening of the Chi Ma (Loc Binh, Lang Son, Vietnam) - Ai Diem (Ningming, Guangxi, China) bilateral border gate pair.

5 agencies are required to handle officials in the MobiFone AVG purchase case

On September 14, the Central Inspection Committee announced the review of the results of the inspection by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the Government Office, the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Committee of Binh Duong province regarding the responsibilities related to violations that occurred in the project of Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation purchasing 95% of the shares of Global Audiovisual Joint Stock Company (AVG).

Accordingly, Party committees and organizations in the above-mentioned agencies and localities are requested to direct the review and handling of relevant collectives and individuals according to their authority. The Central Inspection Committee will report to the Secretariat to direct the review and handling of a number of cadres under the Central management.

Previously, the conclusion of the Government Inspectorate was announced on the afternoon of March 14, clearly stating the violations of the ministries and branches related to the MobiFone project to buy AVG. The inspection agency stated that this is a very serious economic case, the project has a total investment of 8,900 billion VND, however, the violations, violations of regulations, and lack of responsibility of MobiFone lead to the risk of serious damage to the State's capital in this enterprise of about 7,006 billion VND...

55% of businesses are willing to choose technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

At the Seminar on the socio-economic impacts of Vietnam's ratification of the Kigali Amendment on the control and phase-out of HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons), held on September 14 in Hanoi, Dr. Le Hoang Lan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Ecology and Environment, said that the participation and support of the business community is an important factor to ensure the success of the implementation of the Kigali agreement.

According to research by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, through a survey of operating businesses, up to 55% of businesses are willing to convert technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to protecting the ozone layer, 33% of businesses agree to convert technology if supported with funding and technical advice.
