USD exchange rate today, September 23rd: Continuing its upward trend.
As of 6:00 AM on September 23rd, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate at 25,189 VND/USD, an increase of 3 dong compared to the previous session.
With a fluctuation range of ±5%, the floor and ceiling exchange rates are set at 23,930 VND/USD and 26,448 VND/USD respectively.
At the State Bank of Vietnam's Exchange, the reference exchange rate is listed at 23,980 VND/USD for buying and 26,398 VND/USD for selling.
In the free market in Hanoi, the US dollar traded around 26,440 - 26,540 VND/USD, down 25 dong compared to before. This contrasts with the banking system, where exchange rates have mostly increased.
Major banks have made different adjustments, but the overall trend remains upward:
Vietcombank quoted the exchange rate at 26,178 - 26,448 VND/USD, showing an increase in both directions.
VietinBank announced the buying and selling prices of 26,207 - 26,448 VND/USD respectively, an increase of 1 dong in the buying price and 3 dong in the selling price.
Techcombank quoted the exchange rate at 26,199 - 26,448 VND/USD, an increase of 7 dong for the buying rate and 3 dong for the selling rate.
BIDV is trading at 26,200 - 26,448 VND/USD, a slight decrease of 5 dong in the buying rate but an increase of 3 dong in the selling rate.
Eximbank listed the exchange rate at 26,180 - 26,448 VND/USD, an increase of 10 dong for the buying rate and 3 dong for the selling rate.
Sacombank maintained its buying rate at 26,190 VND/USD, while its selling rate increased by 3 dong to 26,448 VND/USD.
On the international market, the US dollar extended its winning streak to four consecutive sessions. The Dollar Index, which measures the strength of the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, rose 0.15% to 97.79 points.
Pepper prices today, September 23, 2025: Remaining stable.
Today's pepper prices in key growing regions remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Therefore, the average domestic pepper price is between 147,000 VND/kg and 150,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, today's pepper price in Dak Lak remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Gia Lai remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.
Today's pepper price in Lam Dong (formerly Dak Nong) remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 150,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, today's pepper price in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) is 149,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai also remains unchanged from yesterday at 149,000 VND/kg.
Additionally, today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly Binh Phuoc) remains unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 147,000 VND/kg.

On the world market, based on quotations from exporting companies and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) has updated the prices of various types of pepper traded on the international market on September 23 (local time) as follows:
Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices fell slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$7,027/ton (down 0.48%). Additionally, Muntok white pepper prices also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching US$9,957/ton (down 0.49%).
Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,600 per ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at US$9,700/tonne. Similarly, ASTA white pepper prices also remained unchanged from yesterday at US$12,900/tonne.
Prices for all types of Vietnamese pepper remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Vietnamese black pepper (500 gr/l) is 6,600 USD/ton; and the price of 550 gr/l is 6,800 USD/ton.
In addition, the price of Vietnamese white pepper remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,250 per ton.
Coffee prices today, September 23, 2025: Slightly increasing again.
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, September 23, 2025, have slightly increased again compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 111,500 and 112,200 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at the highest price of 112,200 VND/kg, a slight increase of 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 112,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 600 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 111,800 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 111,500 VND/kg.

On the London exchange, the online price of robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery reached $4268 per ton, up 3.22% ($133 per ton) from yesterday. The January 2026 futures contract fell 2.76% ($113 per ton) to $4202 per ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery fell 0.22% (0.85 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 365.65 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract increased 0.01% (0.05 US cents/pound), reaching 346.3 US cents/pound.

On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery fell 0.76% (3.55 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 458.35 US cents/pound. The December 2025 contract decreased 4.86% (22.4 US cents/pound), reaching 437.2 US cents/pound.

Oil prices today, September 23, 2025: Fall as Iraq increases oil exports.
In trading on September 23, Brent crude oil prices fell 55 cents, or 0.8%, to $66.13 per barrel. Since the beginning of August, Brent crude has fluctuated between $65.50 and $69 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the US WTI crude oil contract for October 2025 fell 67 cents, or 1%, to $62.01 per barrel.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced new retail fuel prices effective from 3 PM on September 18th. Specifically, they are as follows:
- The price of E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 230 VND, reaching a maximum of 19,986 VND/liter.
- The price of RON95 gasoline increased by 208 dong, reaching 20,608 dong/liter.
- The price of E10 RON 95-III gasoline increased sharply by 560 VND, reaching 20,600 VND/liter.
- Diesel fuel prices increased by 62 dong to 18,705 dong/liter.
- The price of kerosene increased by 176 dong to 18,544 dong/liter.
- The price of fuel oil increased by 40 dong, to 15,130 dong/kg.
During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance did not allocate or utilize funds from the Price Stabilization Fund.
Rubber prices today, September 23, 2025: Sharp decline in China and Japan.
In Singapore, the price of rubber futures for October 2025 rose 0.94% (US$1.6/tonne) compared to yesterday, to US$171.9/tonne. The November 2025 contract fell 0.22% (US$0.4/tonne), to US$173.9/tonne.

At the opening of trading on September 23rd in China, the price of October 2025 rubber futures on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) fell 0.46% (70 yuan) to 14,670 yuan/tonne. The price of November 2025 rubber futures fell 0.35% (55 yuan) to 14,645 yuan/tonne.

At the time of this survey, RSS3 prices on the TOCOM Commodity Exchange (Tokyo) for October 2025 delivery were down 0.55% (1.8 Yen/kg) from yesterday, to 320.1 Yen/kg. The November 2025 contract fell 2.35% (7.5 Yen/kg), to 310 Yen/kg.

Cocoa prices today, September 23, 2025: Sharp decline across the board.
As of 6:00 AM on September 23, 2025, cocoa prices traded on the New York exchange for December 2025 delivery fell by 5.79% (US$431/ton) compared to yesterday, to US$7000/ton. The March 2026 contract decreased by 3.95% (US$290/ton), reaching US$7032/ton.

At the time of this survey, London cocoa prices for December 2025 delivery were down 2.64% (134 GBP/tonne) compared to yesterday, at 4921 GBP/tonne. The March 2026 contract fell 1.97% (100 GBP/tonne), reaching 4958 GBP/tonne.
