News about tropical depression in the East Sea
On the afternoon of June 23, the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - National Committee for Search and Rescue sent a telegram to the Command Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of coastal provinces and cities from Ha Tinh to Kien Giang; the Command Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, National Defense, Transport, and Foreign Affairs about the development of the tropical depression.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon, the low pressure area in the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression. At 3:00 p.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 12.6 degrees North latitude and 117.8 degrees East longitude.
Forecast in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move in the West Northwest direction, about 15-20km per hour and is likely to strengthen. The sea area east of the central East Sea will have strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, natural disaster risk level: level 3.
In addition, due to the influence of the tropical depression combined with the strong southwest monsoon in the South, the central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau has strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with sea waves 2-3m high.
To proactively respond to the developments of the tropical depression, the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - National Committee for Search and Rescue requested the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of provinces, cities and ministries to direct the implementation of the following contents:
1. Count vessels operating at sea; strengthen communication, inform owners of vessels operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of tropical depressions to proactively take preventive and avoidance measures.
2. Regularly monitor the development of tropical depressions on the media, manage the departure of ships, and maintain regular communication with ship owners to promptly handle any bad situations that may arise.
3. Maintain rescue forces and vehicles to be ready to respond when required. Organize on-duty teams seriously and regularly report to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the National Committee for Search and Rescue./.
