A North Korean suspect has revealed that he discussed hiding a biochemical poison in a fan to assassinate leader Kim Jong-un, in a video released by Pyongyang today.

Uriminjokkiri TVposted a video containing testimony from a North Korean alleged terrorist and evidence of a terrorist plot against Kim Jong-un. The video shows a man named Kim Song-il, whose face is obscured, saying he was tricked and lured into the plot.

Kim said he discussed methods of attacking the North Korean leadership with South Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) officers, such as hiding small amounts of biochemical toxins in radiators and cooling fans.

North Korea on May 5 claimed that a terrorist group led by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and South Korean intelligence agency infiltrated North Korea to carry out a biochemical terrorist attack on leader Kim.

North Korea's Ministry of State Security accused the NIS of colluding with the CIA to bribe a North Korean timber worker surnamed Kim in Russia in June 2014, turning him into a terrorist.

Last week, North Korean prosecutors released a list of four suspects the country said were involved in the assassination plot, including Mr.Lee Byong-ho, head of the NIS. Pyongyang initiated prosecution under North Korean criminal law, calling on Seoul and Washington to immediately extradite the suspect.

North Korea's claim could not be independently verified. The NIS has denied the allegation.
