The Provincial Youth Union offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Soviet Union in Nghe Tinh.

(Baonghean.vn) - To commemorate the 86th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Soviet Day (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2016), on the morning of September 12, the delegation of the Provincial Youth Union led by comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, came to offer flowers and incense at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Day 12-9 relic site in Hung Nguyen Town.

Exactly 86 years ago, about 8,000 farmers in Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan organized a large-scale demonstration. When they reached Thai Lao, the enemy sent planes to bomb and open fire on the demonstration, killing 217 people, injuring 125 and arresting dozens. Although the demonstration was brutally suppressed, the brave spirit, noble ideals, and heroic sacrifice of the Soviet martyrs of Nghe Tinh will forever be a shining example to encourage and motivate the people to build their homeland to become more and more prosperous and strong.

At the Soviet Martyrs Memorial House of Nghe Tinh, the Provincial Youth Union laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary cause and for the independence and freedom of the nation.

The delegation listened to a presentation about the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement.

On behalf of the province's youth, the delegation pledged to always uphold the heroic tradition and spirit of uprising of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement, continue to unite, promote the spirit of initiative and creativity of the youth, and contribute to building the province to be more civilized and prosperous.
