Nghe An Provincial Youth Union shares difficulties with people in flood-hit areas
(Baonghean.vn) - Sharing the difficulties of people affected by the floods after storm No. 4, the Provincial Youth Union mobilized nearly 5,000 members to carry out support activities. At the same time, gifts were given and encouragement was given to a number of units and individuals affected by floods.

Immediately after the storm, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee directed all levels of the Youth Union to mobilize nearly 5,000 union members, youth, and youth volunteers from agencies, businesses, and armed forces to coordinate with local youth volunteers to carry out activities to overcome the consequences caused by the storm.
Youth Union members in Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Quy Hop districts mobilized thousands of working days to help people move their assets to safe places, support the repair of damaged houses, and guard flooded areas and areas at risk of subsidence.

Con Cuong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has 298 students, mainly children of the Thai ethnic group. The school has not been invested in solidly, and recently teachers and students of the school have had to rely on the facilities of Con Cuong Town Primary School to study. Due to the rapid rise of floodwaters and the school being located in a low-lying area, all the clothes, school supplies, blankets of the 298 students, the computer room, and the school's facilities were flooded and completely damaged.
Here, comrade Pham Tuan Vinh shared the difficulties and losses of Con Cuong Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, and at the same time sent words of encouragement and warm greetings to the students and teachers, and thanked the Youth Union members and local people who have been joining hands to overcome the consequences of the flood so that the students can soon return to school.
After storm No. 4, Nghe An suffered heavy damage. As of the afternoon of August 19, the whole province had 6 dead and missing people; 23 houses completely collapsed; 2,055 houses were flooded, 364 houses had to be urgently evacuated, 395 livestock died, 13,391 poultry died, were swept away, 990 hectares of aquatic products were affected; National Highways 7, 15, 16, 48, 48C, 48D, 48E in Nghe An province were flooded and landslides at some points causing traffic jams. Localities heavily affected: Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Quy Hop...
The delegation also visited and encouraged Lieutenant Nguyen Van Hoa and Private Nguyen Dinh Quan of Fire Police Team No. 6 stationed in Con Cuong district who were seriously injured while helping people rescue property and escape floods on the night of August 17.

In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee will continue to direct all levels of the Youth Union to deploy teams and volunteer campaigns to help people overcome the consequences of floods; call on cadres and youth union members inside and outside the province to join hands to donate to help students in flood-affected areas with facilities, clothes, and books so that they can soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and prepare to go to school in the new school year 2018-2019.
