Nghe An Provincial Youth Union takes care of and helps 60 children in special circumstances.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 10, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee held a conference to summarize the work of the Youth Union and youth movement in 2016.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, heads of district-level youth organizations in the province and a number of related individuals and units. Comrade Pham Tuan Vinh - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Duong Hoang Vu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union chaired the conference.

In 2016, together with the provincial branches, the Nghe An provincial Youth Union has done a good job of propagating and educating the Party's directives and resolutions with many specific and practical contents and forms. Especially the "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" is associated with the revolutionary activities and movements of the Youth Union in the whole province such as: Supporting the exam season, volunteering for community life, voluntary blood donation, free medical examination and treatment...

During the year, the Provincial Youth Union honored 33 outstanding young people in the province and awarded 20 26/3 awards to individuals with outstanding achievements. In addition, it successfully organized many activities at the provincial and central levels; organized for union members and young people in the province to participate in more than 3,500 exchange activities, discussions, journeys to the source, gratitude... to educate the tradition of the Union and strengthen trust in the leadership of the Party.

In the movement "Volunteering to develop the socio-economy and protect the Fatherland" and "Accompanying young people to establish their careers", the province's youth have achieved many achievements such as: completing 89 district-level youth projects and 2,300 commune-level youth projects; mobilizing contributions of nearly 500 million VND to light up 25 km of village and hamlet roads in disadvantaged communes; regularly helping and supporting 82 communes and armed forces units in border and island areas...

In the work of caring for and educating children and building the Youth Union, many effective movements have been launched, especially helping children in remote areas and children in difficult circumstances with more than 5 billion VND in scholarships; placing more than 1,000 warning signs in dangerous areas to prevent accidents and injuries.

In the “Small Plan” movement, there were more than 2,000 flocks of Red Scarf chickens with 1.2 billion VND donated to poor students in remote areas... International youth work and activities of public service units and youth volunteer forces had many noteworthy highlights.

Comrade Pham Tuan Vinh - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union explained and received comments from delegates, agreed on goals and directions of activities in the coming time.

Orientation of work in 2017, with the theme of "Improving the quality of Youth Union organization", the Provincial Youth Union focuses on improving the quality of Youth Union activities and the quality of Youth Union members. Strengthening education and fostering revolutionary ideals for young people, educating them on ethics, lifestyle, traditions and culture; especially political and ideological education for Youth Union members on sea and island sovereignty and the border and national situation.

Directing and implementing well the Youth Union Congresses at all levels. Supporting union members and youth in start-up activities, establishing businesses, and building economic development models.

At the same time, to specify the work content, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee plans to organize 29 provincial-level activities in 2017 such as competitions for excellent reporters and propagandists, mechanical and electrical skills competitions, competitions to improve the quality of youth union activities; programs "Youth and gratitude", "Love life"; volunteer activities, etc.

The focus of the work is to implement the plan to assign youth union organizations to take care of and help children in especially difficult circumstances to study well in Nghe An province in the period of 2017 - 2022, with the plan to be implemented in 60 communes in the province.

At the conference, many opinions were expressed and suggestions were made for the 2017 work orientation to improve the quality of activities of youth union organizations and youth union work in the whole province, completing the set goals.

Delegates were interested in contributing ideas on supporting the enhancement of legal education and propaganda for youth in mountainous districts and remote areas, especially Ky Son district.

The representative of Quy Hop District Youth Union suggested that it is necessary to organize quarterly youth activities; arrange jobs for over-age union cadres and related policies; coordinate activities between children's houses and local children's movements; policies for mature union cadres according to Decision 289, in which attention should be paid to ensuring resources and quality for successor cadres; clearly define the functions of the Youth Union and the Youth Association, the Youth Union plays a core role, orienting activities and the Youth Association contributes to specific activities.

Representatives of the Youth Union of the provincial agencies proposed to set specific targets for the work in 2017; in recruiting union officials at commune and hamlet levels, it is necessary to pay attention to selecting people with talent in union activities and good ability to mobilize youth. Regarding volunteer and charity work of union members and youth, there is some overlap that needs to be adjusted.

Nghi Loc District Youth Union gave comments on how to calculate the rate of gathering youth union members, the work of evaluating emulation by cluster and the issue of attracting district-level union cadres.

Representatives of Hung Nguyen District Youth Union proposed to strengthen solutions to improve the quality of youth union work and youth union cadres at all levels, especially at the commune and hamlet levels.

Representatives of the organizations signed the commitment and registered.Receive, care for and help 60 children in 60 communes in the province with especially difficult circumstances to excel in their studies in 2017.

At the conference, 14 groups and 10 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Youth Union for their outstanding achievements in youth work and youth movements in 2016; 10 groups were honored by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee as outstanding in 2016; 18 excellent youth organizations received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee.

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee also voted to remove comrade Duong Hoang Vu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union from the position of Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council and elect comrade Nguyen Thi Thom - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union to take on the position of Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council.
