Quang Tri province shares experience in mine action with Nghe An province

On the afternoon of September 7, in Vinh city, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri province, the Mine Action Center of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province to organize the Conference "Introducing and sharing methods of coordinating and managing the Database of post-war mine action activities in Quang Tri province" in Nghe An province.
Attending the conference were representatives of the Database Center, the Vietnam National Mine Action Center; the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Mine Action Center of Quang Tri province; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities of Nghe An province.

Currently, bombs, mines and explosives left over from the war in Nghe An have been and are a potential threat to people's lives, partially hindering the province's socio-economic development efforts.

In order to overcome the consequences of remaining bombs, mines and explosives, based on the request of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri province and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province, with the consent of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri province, the Mine Action Center of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Nghe An province to organize the conference.
Within the framework of the conference, the Quang Tri Provincial Mine Action Center shared models and experiences in overcoming the consequences of post-war mines and bombs and in the field of international cooperation with humanitarian and development mine action partners.
Through this conference, relevant agencies and sectors in Nghe An province have grasped more useful information to serve as a basis for relationships, cooperation as well as planning for socio-economic development in stages; models and approaches to foreign non-governmental donors to mobilize and call for support for localities in overcoming the consequences of post-war bombs and mines./.
