Encroachment on road corridors in Nam Dan
(Baonghean) -Recently, at important traffic intersections, especially in the central market area, three-way and four-way intersections on National Highway 46 running through Nam Dan, the situation of people trading and encroaching on traffic safety corridors, obstructing traffic participants, has become increasingly common.
The Sa Nam market area, located right next to the intersection between Nam Dan Town and Van Dien Commune, is considered a "hot spot" because of the situation where people openly hold markets on the roadside. Especially, on the days before Tet, buyers and sellers are busier, causing obstacles for people and vehicles when participating in traffic. This is also the main cause of frequent collisions and traffic accidents. Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, a traffic participant, said: "I see the situation of people trading and encroaching on the roadside, causing traffic obstacles, affecting people like us when traveling on the road. I hope that the authorities and sectors will soon have a solution so that this situation does not happen again."
In addition to the phenomenon of people selling small goods spilling out onto the road, the situation of re-encroachment on the sidewalk corridor such as: hanging advertising signs, setting up canopies, temporary tents for business that obstruct the view also has a significant impact on traffic on this route.
Although in the past time, relevant levels, sectors and the town police have stepped up propaganda, popularization of laws on traffic safety, reviewed, counted and handled households that deliberately violated, increased patrols to maintain order during rush hours. However, when the authorities turned away, everything went back to normal. Regarding this issue, Mr. Bui Huu Dong - Head of Nam Dan Town Police said: "From the beginning of the year, the town police have increased inspection and handling of violators, especially those who deliberately encroached on the corridor for trading, at the same time organized propaganda and education, organized campaigns to collect signs, remove canopies that obscure the view, and handled them to deter and educate people not to encroach on the traffic safety corridor, but it only worked for a short time. In the coming time, especially before Tet, we will resolutely take action to eliminate this situation to restore clear roads and sidewalks".
In order to thoroughly resolve the encroachment and violation of traffic safety in this area, the Nam Dan Town government and relevant agencies need to actively and regularly coordinate with more synchronous and drastic solutions. In particular, it is necessary to help people improve their understanding of law enforcement, gradually forming the concept of "traffic culture" for everyone in order to restore order and discipline in traffic safety, and return clear roads and sidewalks.
