(Baonghean.vn) - Compared to their colleagues in schools in the basic education system, teachers at the Nghe An Center for Education and Vocational Training for the Disabled, part of the specialized education system, really face many difficulties. It is the special nature of the subjects they teach that has created special teachers. And here, only true love can help teachers overcome difficulties.

1,
Nghe An Center for Education and Vocational Training for the Disabled currently has more than 300 students with physical and intellectual disabilities. Teachers in this specialized environment, in addition to teaching literacy and vocational skills, also have the responsibility of equipping students with life skills. Therefore, the relationship between teachers and students here has many special features, above all, it is still love and attachment like people living under the same roof.

For deaf students, the connection between teacher and student is mainly through actions, gestures and eyes. To successfully build this connection, the teacher must be patient, dedicated, always close and friendly to guide each student to express their thoughts, feelings, emotions and "connect" with the teacher and "connect" with people in the same situation.

During her lessons, teacher Phan Thi Huyen always guides her students to grasp the meaning and content of the lesson through gestures. From there, the connection and affection between her and her students, and between students themselves, become even closer.

4
For students with intellectual disabilities, teaching is much more difficult and arduous. Because each student has a different personality and ability to learn, teachers must clearly understand the specific characteristics of each student in order to have appropriate educational methods. That means not only needing to be serious but also sometimes having to love and comfort.

During class, a student stood on the table, climbed onto the window and shouted, causing the whole class to be in an uproar. Teacher Cao Hoai Thu had to stop her work, go over to comfort and encourage the student to sit properly. According to Ms. Thu, this situation happens frequently, almost every class in the class for intellectually disabled students.

Here, students are not only taught life skills but also guided by dedicated teachers in sewing, electrical work and welding so that they can find suitable jobs to support themselves. With nearly 30 years of experience, teacher Ngo Thi Phuong has taught hundreds of disabled students to master sewing and earn a living.

In class, teachers are absorbed in each lesson, and at mealtimes, they also spend time caring for their students, especially those who have difficulty in living and moving around.

At first, most teachers were confused and very worried, some even wanted to give up. But over time, they got used to the job, their love grew, they always cared and worried, spent time taking care of and considered their students as their own children.
