With the message "Joining hands for the true happiness of Vietnamese women and children", the Vietnam Stature Foundation (VSF) in collaboration with TH Group and BAC A BANK launched the TO CAM 2024 campaign - Unite to end violence against women and girls.

Taking place from November 20 to December 20, the campaign was organized in response to the UNiTE Campaign of the United Nations and the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Together for true happiness

With the message "Joining hands for the true happiness of Vietnamese women and children", the campaign is aimed at raising public awareness about violence against women and children, promoting practical actions to support victims of violence.

The highlight is the live media event at the system of 25 TH True mart stores in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, of which, 3 stores are decorated with orange booths - each customer who buys orange products and checks in the orange booth, shares the campaign message with the hashtag "TocamcungTH" will receive a gift from the organizer. The program of interacting with customers and lucky draw for 30 customers is also held at the Orange To point of BAC A BANK branches.

Nearly 100 branches and offices of TH Group and BAC A BANK nationwide will be decorated with orange corners, along with individual competitions, photo contests checking in at orange corners with orange clothes and accessories.

The reason we chose orange as the campaign's symbolic color is because it is a color that attracts the attention of the community; it is a bright color that brings hope to victims of violence, but at the same time it is a color that warns about the dangerous level of violence against women and children."

600 million VND to support improving livelihoods for women

According to the results of the 2019 National Survey on Violence Against Women in Vietnam - Journey to Change, in Vietnam, nearly 2/3 of women (63%) have experienced at least one form of violence by their husband or intimate partner in their lifetime.

Emotional violence is the most common form, with nearly half (47%) of ever-married, partnered women experiencing it in their lifetime. This is followed by physical and/or sexual violence, with one-third (32%) of women experiencing either form of violence in their lifetime. In particular, 8% of adolescent girls aged 15-19 have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from their husbands or boyfriends, while women of reproductive age aged 20-44 have the highest rates of physical and/or sexual violence today.

Four in five women who have experienced violence “never fought back”, up to half of women who have been physically and/or sexually abused by their husbands or partners have never told anyone about it and the majority have never sought help from public services or authorities; over 30% of women with disabilities have experienced physical violence by their husbands or partners.

Since 2008, the UN Secretary-General has launched the UNiTE (Unite) Campaign to raise awareness of violence against women and girls; renew advocacy efforts; and share knowledge and innovation to end violence against women and girls. The campaign lasts for 16 days, from 25 November to 10 December every year.

Since 2016, the Vietnamese Government has responded to the UNiTE Campaign by implementing the “Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence”, taking place from November 15 to December 15 every year.

The campaign “To Cam with BAC A BANK, TH Group - Unite to end violence against women and girls” was organized to raise awareness among customers and corporate officers and employees about the issue of violence against women and girls, and at the same time, promote practical actions to support victims of violence. There are 12,000 officers and employees of TH Group and BAC A BANK directly and indirectly benefited from the campaign.
