Investigators determined that around mid-July, the Thu Thua District Medical Center received a 41-year-old man who came to the hospital with symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. PCR tests showed that he and his wife were both positive for nCoV.
They are small traders who often go to Ho Chi Minh City and the market in Ward 2, Tan An City to buy and sell fish. These locations are epidemic areas, widely announced in the media. However, both of them did not go to a medical facility to declare.
In addition, during the time Thu Thua district implemented social distancing according to Directive 16, this couple also held a death anniversary at home, inviting guests to attend, spreading the disease to 4 people.
Currently, Long An has recorded over 8,100 community Covid-19 infections and 83 deaths. This province has the third highest number of infections among 19 southern provinces, after Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.
