JICA surveys clean vegetable production and Australian beef farm in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the visit and work in Nghe An, on the afternoon of December 15, the delegation of JICA and Japanese enterprises surveyed the production of VietGAP vegetables at Phu Luong Vegetable Cooperative, Quynh Luong Commune, Quynh Luu District and visited the Australian cow farm in Nghi Lam Commune, Nghi Loc District.

Phu Luong Vegetable Cooperative is currently implementing the VietGAP vegetable model with an area of ​​4 hectares and has signed a contract with Tam Nguyen Joint Stock Company to have this company purchase all of its products. The delegation was very impressed with the traditional vegetable production method of the people of Quynh Luu, Nghe An.

The delegation exchanged information on the VietGAP vegetable production process, quality, prices of vegetables and consumption markets. The delegation was particularly interested in the use of plant protection products on vegetables to protect the health of producers and consumers.

Vegetables are produced according to VietGAP process, pesticides use biological products.

At the Australian cattle farm of An Thinh Khang Company Limited, the delegation learned about the production and business situation, the process of raising Australian cattle in Nghe An, and how the company creates food sources for the cattle. The farm has a scale of 5,000 cattle, most of which have been sold, with about 300 beef cattle remaining.

The delegation visited the Australian cow model in Nghi Lam, Nghi Loc.

The delegation also listened to representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development report on some situations of livestock farming in the area.

For Nghe An, JICA has a cooperation agreement with the Provincial People's Committee, according to which, step by step, this organization will invest in projects in the area after carefully surveying and piloting the model.
