(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 9, Vinh City People's Committee held the 717th death anniversary of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Tran Hung Dao temple.

Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, from Tuc Mac village, Thien Duong prefecture, Nam Son town, now My Loc district, Nam Dinh province, was a national hero and a great general of the Tran dynasty. His life and career were closely linked to the resistance war against the invaders in the 13th century. Under his leadership, the army and people of Dai Viet won victories in Chuong Duong, Ham Tu, Van Kiep, Bach Dang, driving the Yuan-Mongol army out of the country.
He died on August 20, Canh Ty year (September 5, 1300), at the age of about 70. All his life, he devoted himself to the country and to the country's military art, leaving behind many valuable works such as "Hich tuong si", "Binh thu yeu luoc" ... which are still preserved today.
