The passing of comrade Le Van Thanh is a great loss to our Party, State, People and family.

Comrade Le Van Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee of the 12th and 13th terms, Member of the Party Central Committee of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister; former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Phong City; Delegate of the 12th National Assembly. After a period of serious illness, despite the devoted care and treatment of the Party, the State, the collective of professors, doctors and his family, due to serious illness, he passed away at 20:20, August 22, 2023 (July 7, Quy Mao year) at his private home at 217 Lach Tray Street, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City, at the age of 61. His passing is a great loss to the Party, the State, our People and his family.

Comrade Le Van Thanh, born on October 20, 1962, in Tan Lien commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city, promoting the patriotic tradition of his family and hometown, Comrade Le Van Thanh actively studied, worked and devoted himself to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

From February 1988 to May 1998, he was an accountant; Deputy Head of Financial Accounting Department, Hai Phong Cement Factory, admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in June 1997, officially in June 1998.

From June 1998 to November 2005, he was Party Cell Secretary, Head of Financial Accounting Department, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Cement Company, Deputy Project Manager in charge of economic field of Project Management Board for construction of new Hai Phong Cement Factory, Commander of construction project of new Hai Phong Cement Factory.

From December 2005 - July 2010: He was a member of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; Member of the Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Acting Director, Director of Hai Phong Cement Company, and Head of the Hai Phong Cement Urban Area Project Management Board; Delegate of the 12th National Assembly (from May 2007 - May 2011).

From July 2010 - May 2014: He was a member of the City Party Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City; Delegate of the 14th Hai Phong City People's Council.

From May 2014 - October 2015: He was Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City; Delegate of the 14th Hai Phong City People's Council.

From October 2015 to December 2015: He was Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City; Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Military Region III; Secretary of the City Military Party Committee.

From January 2016 to June 2016: He was a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City; Member of the Party Executive Committee of Military Region III; Secretary of the City Military Party Committee.

From July 2016 - December 2020: He was a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Phong City; Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Military Region III; Secretary of the City Military Party Committee.

At the 13th National Congress of the Party in January 2021, he continued to be elected as a member of the Party Central Committee.

At the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly in April 2021, he was approved to be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and to participate as a member of the Government Party Committee.

He was a member of the Party Central Committee, terms XII and XIII; a delegate of the National Assembly, term XII.
