Further strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of October 18th, at the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province held an exchange with the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Duongchit Changxayvang - former Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province, and Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province.

During the exchange, both sides highly appreciated the results of cooperation between Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces in particular, and between Nghe An and the provinces of Laos in general, over the past period.

Comrade Duongchit Changsayvang - Chairman of the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province, delivered a speech at the exchange event.

Comrade Duongchit Changxay Vang expressed gratitude for the assistance of Nghe An province to Xieng Khouang, especially the practical support of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province, which has acted as a bridge for Nghe An businesses to invest in Xieng Khouang, connecting organizations in the province, the country and internationally to donate wheelchairs, provide free medical examinations and treatment and medicine to particularly disadvantaged areas of Xieng Khouang, and many other meaningful activities.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presented flowers to the female delegates on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20th.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Friendship Associations of the two provinces presented flowers to congratulate the women of the Border Guard Art Troupe of Nghe An province and the women participating in the exchange, on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20th.

A delegation from the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province visited the branch of the Vietnamese expatriate association in Thailand, Vinh City.

During their visit to Nghe An, the delegation of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2015-2016 with the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province, visited and worked with the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum, held exchanges with the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association branch in Vinh city, visited and worked with Nghe An Medical University; and visited the Bara Do Luong dam - a project built from 1936 to 1939 with contributions from architect Prince Souphanouvong.
