Seminar 'Nghe An Propaganda Work - Achievements, lessons and responsibilities in the face of new requirements'

On the afternoon of July 31, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held a seminar on "Nghe An Propaganda Work - Achievements, lessons and responsibilities in the face of new requirements". At the seminar, the delegates' presentations highlighted the 90-year tradition of the Party's Propaganda sector and the tradition of Propaganda work of the Nghe An Party Committee.

Accordingly, in Nghe An, propaganda and agitation activities have been taking place vigorously since the Party was born and in each revolutionary period, always closely following the direction and orientation of the Central Committee, the political tasks of each locality, actively and proactively advising Party committees at all levels to lead and direct the effective implementation of Party building work in the fields of politics, ideology, propaganda, political theory, press, publishing, culture, arts, science and education, and compilation of local Party history.

Nghe An's Propaganda work has made many important contributions to protecting the Party's ideological foundation; strengthening people's trust in the cause of building and innovating the homeland and country, creating social consensus, contributing to political stability, socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, actively integrating internationally, participating in building the Party and organizations in the political system to be clean and strong.

Besides affirming the general contribution of Nghe An Propaganda Department to Party building work and protecting the Party's ideological foundation, at the seminar, many presentations also shared many experiences, creativity and innovation in propaganda work in each specific content and field.

These are experiences and requirements to improve the effectiveness of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting wrong and hostile views in the current period of the Provincial Police; experience in coordinating propaganda orientation, improving the quality of foreign information activities of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Some experience in ideological work in the field of literature and art, contributing to the organization building of the association in the province of Nghe An Literature and Arts Association; political and ideological education work associated with improving the quality of training high-quality human resources of Vinh University.

The role of the Party Committee in leading and directing the work of grasping and handling public opinion in Thanh Chuong district; the role of propaganda work in developing Vinh city into a civilized and modern urban area; experience in propaganda work, mobilizing to build a model new rural unit in Nam Dan district...

Speaking at the seminar, in addition to appreciating the contributions of the Nghe An Propaganda Department to the common development of the province, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also raised some concerns related to the quality of advice for Party committees to implement Party building work in terms of politics, ideology and ethics of the Propaganda Department in the past time, which has not met the requirements.

On the other hand, the grasping, forecasting, and assessment of the ideological developments and moods of cadres, party members, and people are sometimes not accurate and timely; the work of directing, providing information, and orienting public opinion is sometimes not good; the handling of issues reflected by the press is sometimes not resolute; the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints is still passive, lacking sharpness, and lacking close connection between levels and sectors; the use of the motto "building combined with fighting" in propaganda work is not smooth and effective...

Sharing the difficulties that propaganda work and propagandists are facing today, especially facing the reality of violations by some organizations, party members and fighting with his comrades; Comrade Nguyen Van Thong hopes that the Propaganda Department at all levels and the team of propagandists will continue to demonstrate determination, resoluteness and innovation in carrying out the political tasks of the industry and of propaganda officers with many good, creative and effective ways.

To do so, it is recommended that the Propaganda Department at all levels continue to innovate the work of advising Party committees on organizing the study, dissemination and implementation of Party directives and resolutions and State policies and laws in a flexible and effective manner, suitable to local conditions and practical situations.

Focus on improving the effectiveness of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, in conjunction with Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XI and XII) on Party building and rectification; Project No. 07 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on enhancing exemplary behavior, fighting against conservative and stagnant thoughts among cadres and party members and regulations on setting examples for cadres and party members.

Along with that, we need to continue to innovate propaganda work according to the motto "Quick - Close to reality - Persuasive - Effective"; strengthen dialogue with the people, promptly handle ideological problems at the grassroots, create unity within the Party and consensus among the people. And propaganda work and mass mobilization must go hand in hand, so the Propaganda sector needs to strengthen coordination with departments and branches in the political system to improve propaganda effectiveness.

For leaders at all levels, it is necessary to continue to raise awareness of the role of propaganda work, considering it a central and consistent task through specific plans and tasks for the Propaganda front, not through words on forums.

In addition, Party committees at all levels must always take care to build a team of propaganda workers who are proficient, courageous, exemplary, and dedicated to their profession; must be truly sharp, proficient, and knowledgeable in their profession, have critical thinking and courage to fight to protect the Party's ideological foundation; actively and proactively fight and effectively refute erroneous, hostile viewpoints, bad, and toxic information on the internet and social networks; overcome the situation of clichés, stereotypes, and mechanicalness in propaganda work...
