(Baonghean.vn) -According to statistics from the provincial Plant Protection Department, as of the afternoon of February 27, the whole province had over 498 hectares/5,000 hectares of early spring tea infected with leaf blast.
Concentrated mainly in 3 key areas: Nghi Loc 230 ha, Vinh City over 200 ha, Hung Nguyen nearly 30 ha, in addition, the disease has now spread widely in the fields in Do Luong, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh districts. Of which, over 330 ha are lightly infected, 129 ha are moderately infected and over 39 ha are heavily infected, 2.5 ha are "burned". The common damage rate is 5 - 7%, high places 15 - 30%, locally 50 - 70% concentrated on varieties Xi 23, NX 30, BC15, Syn 6, TL6. Up to now, the whole province has organized spraying of preventive medicine for over 387 ha.
In the coming time, it is forecasted that warm and sunny weather conditions will be favorable for the development of rice blast disease. The Department of Agriculture continues to direct districts to focus on spraying and taking care of rice according to the correct process.
