Nghe An's GRDP growth rate in the first 9 months of 2024 is expected to reach 7.5-8%
According to estimates, the expected GRDP growth rate in the first 9 months of 2024 in Nghe An province is about 7.5-8%; in the third quarter alone, it is estimated to reach about 8.5%.
On the morning of September 25, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in September 2024 to listen and give opinions on important contents.
Guests attending the meeting included comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
Also attending the meeting were comrades: Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and members of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches and sectors. The meeting was connected to 21 connecting points of districts, cities and towns.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and commented on the report on the first 9 months of the year and key tasks and solutions for the last 3 months of 2024 in the fields of: Socio-economics; public investment; state budget revenue and expenditure and administrative reform...
In the first 9 months of 2024, the whole province implemented socio-economic development tasks in a context of many difficulties and challenges, but with the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and government, the synchronous participation of the entire political system, the consensus and great efforts of the business community and people, the socio-economic situation continued to maintain growth momentum.

The growth rate of the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the third quarter showed positive changes and was higher than that of the first and second quarters. According to estimates, the GRDP growth rate for the first 9 months is expected to reach about 7.5-8%; the third quarter alone is estimated to reach about 8.5%.
Of which, the agricultural sector is estimated to increase by 4-4.2%, the industrial - construction sector is estimated to increase by 12.5-13.5%, the service sector is estimated to increase by 5.8-6.2%, and product tax minus product subsidies is estimated to increase by 6.7-7.2%.

The production situation of agriculture, forestry and fishery is basically stable. By September, the whole province had 320/411 communes meeting new rural standards; 101 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 16 communes meeting model new rural standards; 9 district-level units meeting new rural standards.
Total retail sales of goods and total export turnover of goods both increased by over 20%. The number of tourists reached 8.43 million, up 15% over the same period, with estimated revenue reaching VND10,217 billion.
State budget revenue in the area in the first 9 months is estimated at 16,671 billion VND, reaching 104.8% of the estimate, equal to 143.2% of the same period in 2023. Budget expenditure is estimated at 24,188 billion VND, reaching 66.9% of the estimate.

Investment attraction activities have achieved positive results. As of September 23, the province has granted new licenses to 58 projects with a total registered investment capital of more than VND 18,739 billion; adjusted the total investment capital of 30 projects with a total increase of more than VND 16,802 billion. The total newly granted and adjusted capital is more than VND 35,541 billion, equal to 85.02% of the same period in 2023.
The whole province has 1,533 newly established enterprises, an increase of 5.8% over the same period in 2023 with a total registered capital of VND 17,306 billion, an increase of 29.69%; 625 enterprises resumed operations, equal to 84.5% over the same period.
As of September 20, the total public investment plan has disbursed VND5,022 billion, reaching 54.14%; of which, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed more than VND2,322 billion, reaching 48.09%.

In the fields of culture and society, the quality of comprehensive education continues to affirm its top position in the country; ranked 4th in the country in the number of national excellent students; ranked 12th in the country in the results of high school graduation exams, up 10 places compared to 2023.
Administrative reform and digital transformation have been focused on and achieved many remarkable results. The administrative reform index and the satisfaction index of people and organizations with the services of state administrative agencies have both increased. National defense, security and social order and safety are ensured.

Despite the achievements, production and business activities of enterprises still face many difficulties. The number of enterprises resuming operations has decreased, while the number of enterprises dissolved and temporarily suspended operations has increased compared to the same period in 2023.
Administrative reform has seen many positive changes, but there are still shortcomings and limitations that have not been overcome. Land acquisition and site clearance have been vigorously implemented by localities, but in general, there are still many difficulties, and some problems are still lingering.
