Nghe An's economic growth rate is estimated at 6.76%, ranking 3rd in the North Central region.
According to data released by the General Statistics Office, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate in Nghe An province in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 6.76%, ranking 3rd in the North Central region and 26th in the country, higher than the same period in 2023.
On the morning of June 25, under the chairmanship of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular June meeting to listen to and give opinions on important contents.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; together with representatives of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies; leaders of departments, branches, and 21 districts, cities and towns.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and commented on the report reviewing the direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee; reported on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and reported on the implementation of state budget and financial tasks in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2024.
In the first 6 months of 2024, Nghe An province implemented socio-economic development tasks in conditions with many difficulties and challenges, affecting production, business activities and people's lives.

In that difficult context, with the drastic, timely and effective leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee; the efforts of all levels, sectors, business community and people in the province, in general, the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months continued to maintain growth momentum, had positive changes and achieved many important results in all sectors and fields.
The direction and management work is implemented resolutely, proactively, flexibly, effectively and ensures focus and key points; promptly responding to and effectively handling arising issues.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee has paid attention to and focused on implementing the Action Programs and plans to implement Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW of the Politburo, especially coordinating with central ministries and branches to complete the dossier to submit to the National Assembly for approval of the Resolution on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province.
According to data released by the General Statistics Office, the growth rate of total product in the province in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 6.76%, ranking 3rd in the North Central region and 26th in the country, higher than the same period in 2023.

Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated to increase by 4.13%; the industry and construction sector is estimated to increase by 9.95%; the service sector is estimated to increase by 5.85%; and product taxes minus product subsidies are estimated to increase by 6.77%.
Budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at VND 11,897 billion, reaching 74.8% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, equal to 140.2% of the same period and exceeding the set scenario (VND 8,615 billion). Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 11,052 billion, revenue from import and export activities is estimated at VND 836 billion.

The agricultural sector continues to be stable, with a successful winter-spring crop in 2023-2024. In the first 6 months of the year, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to recognize 8 communes meeting new rural standards, 35 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, and 10 model new rural communes.
The industrial production index for the first 6 months is estimated to increase by 10.03% over the same period. Many new projects have been put into operation, stabilizing capacity, contributing to increasing production capacity. The export turnover of goods is estimated at 1,350.5 million USD, the total import turnover is estimated at 1,018.45 million USD, an increase of 53.33% over the same period in 2023; the number of visitors is estimated at 5.48 million people.

The provincial People's Committee has implemented many solutions to improve the business investment environment, attract investment and support business development. As of June 15, the province has granted 39 new projects and adjusted 77 projects, with a total capital of VND16,921.9 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the total newly granted investment capital is 1.14 times higher.
As of June 20, the total public investment plan had disbursed VND 3,281,992 billion, reaching 36.16%, 29.7% higher than the same period; of which, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province had disbursed VND 1,561,992 billion, reaching 33.75%.

The cultural and social fields are of interest, social security is ensured. Nghe An has successfully completed the 2023-2024 school year, organized exams well. Successfully organized many events and activities on major holidays; created jobs for 30,300 people, reaching 64.47% of the plan.
Foreign affairs were actively implemented, with many outstanding results. Administrative reform and digital transformation were focused on and had many remarkable results. National defense, security and social order and safety were ensured.
