Making her film debut as a beautiful martial artist in "Old Man, Beauty and Gangster," the singer's acting was rather amateurish, and none of her scenes were particularly impressive.

Since Tóc Tiên announced her foray into acting with the film "Old Man, Beautiful Woman and Gangster," the singer has generated considerable anticipation among her fans. However, the lead role of the 1989-born beauty in the recently released film failed to leave a lasting impression.

In the film "Old Man, Beautiful Woman and Gangster," Toc Tien plays Quynh Cherry. A graduate in Fashion Design, Quynh Cherry hasn't found a stable job. She makes a living using her skills and passion for DJing in bars. One night while performing, she witnesses gang fights and films the incident. That same night, Quynh Cherry steals five diamonds from a criminal gang and is hunted down. Along the way, she meets Old Man Toi (Hoai Linh). The two experience a series of hilarious and awkward situations.

Tóc Tiên transforms into a sexy DJ, but the character lacks personality.

In the first half of the film, Toc Tien played the role of a rebellious and daring DJ quite well. In the dancing and acting scenes in the bar, the beautiful actress exuded the spirit of a sexy girl as well as quick-wittedness in handling social situations. These brief scenes showed Toc Tien's most natural acting.

Later, the singer's performance became lackluster because her character lacked a clear objective. Throughout her adventure with Hoài Linh's character, Quỳnh Cherry consistently spoke carelessly, arrogantly, and disrespectfully towards the elderly. These impulsive and illogical exchanges made viewers lose sympathy for the young actress. In the action scenes, Tóc Tiên also lacked impressive fight sequences, despite having practiced martial arts beforehand during filming. Overall, Tóc Tiên's performance in her first film showed that she needs to transform and practice more to become a successful actress if she wants to pursue a career in film.

Tóc Tiên is one of the three main actors in the film, along with Hoài Linh and Thương Tín. While Hoài Linh plays an old man named Tỏi searching for his missing wife, Thương Tín plays a gangster boss who has a grudge against Tỏi. The film's script is not well-developed, preventing the two famous actors from fully utilizing their acting potential. Hoài Linh is most impressive with his cross-dressing scenes, which are his forte. In the remaining segments, the male artist still displays a theatrical and stylized acting style rather than cinematic acting. Thương Tín utilizes his angular appearance, but his character is not complex enough, so he doesn't have a chance to shine.

The most memorable part of the film is the pair of mentally challenged thug brothers, Ngo and Nghe, played by Duc Thinh and Kieu Minh Tuan. The two supporting actors make the audience laugh with their silly but not over-the-top comedic acts.

"Old Man, Beautiful Woman and Gangster" is a film written by actress Thanh Thúy and her husband, director Đức Thịnh. The film blends comedy, adventure, and action genres. While the action scenes aren't particularly dramatic or visually stunning, the film provides laughter through dialogue and witty exchanges between the comedians.

The film was released in Vietnamese theaters on December 24th.
